D & G Spring / Summer 2012
This was the final collection for dynamic duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's D & G label. D & G is merging with its grown up sister, partner in crime, Dolce & Gabbana. The designers continued to do what they do best...sexy, young, glamazon garments. This collection definitely won't disappoint their legion of fans.

Floral kaftans and hankerchief skirts had a distinct Hermes, Versace and Pucci feel to them.
Patchwork silk cuffed shirts featured denim plackets and pockets. There were prints aplenty often mismatched polka dots and florals. Though haphazardous they still managed to work well on the runway. Oversized raffia sun hats complemented high waisted knicker bockers and hipster, tie side bikinis. Silhouettes emphasised the waist. Halter maxis, peasant blouses, caplets and jumpsuits, all great wardrobe staples for an Italian seaside getaway.
Accessory wise, gold coin earrings and necklaces were teamed with garments. Floral, platform, peep toe booties swathed models ankles and came in an array of colours including; watermelon, cobalt, tangerine, fuschia and gold. Minaudieres and envelope clutches completed the look.

Oyster Magazine

Oyster Magazine

As I was searching through my modelling portfolios I stumbled across my first ever photoshoot. I'm 15 years old in this shot.

It was for edgy, fashion publication, Oyster magazine. The shoot took place on a rooftop on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. It was shot by the immensely talented, photographer, Eddy Ming. Australian designer Nicola Finetti, who is a creative visionary, styled the shoot, with designs from his latest winter collection. The wonderful Angela Davis did my hair and make up. Angela is now based in London.

Looking back I had no idea how privileged I was to be working with three, Australian, fashion heavyweights on my first ever photoshoot!

Balmain Spring / Summer 2012 Collection

Balmain Spring / Summer 2012

This was Olivier Rousteing's second collection under the helm of Balmain since Christophe Decarnin's departure in February 2011.

Rousteing maintained Balmain's signature aesthetic, sexy, rock n roll glamour with a polished edge.

Standout pieces included a cropped, collarless, gold and white embellished jacket with matching mini dress worn by Kasia Struss.

There were strong Mexican influences this season, which were evident on lace motif hipsters and a silk, pastel, floral jacket, which resembled a tapestry.

Tees and denim were no longer distressed. This season Rousteing opted for bleached denim and plunging collarless blouses.

Long, lean silhouettes were found on white military style jackets complete with black fringing on sleeves. Pants were high waisted and 3/4 in length. The look was brought together by a gold and white chain belt, very Versace.

There were laser cut black and white mini dresses complete with stitching detail.Denim shirts featured embroided collars, pockets and plackets. Cheeky hot pants featured regularly and came in black leather, embellished shades of bronze, and white quilted fabrics.

All these looks were paired with Balmain's staple ankle boot in black. Some styles featured Florence Broadhurst print, peep toe detail, embellished toe and leather cut-out design.

Emilio Pucci Spring / Summer 2012

Emilio Pucci Spring / Summer 2012

There were midriff baring, gypsies aplenty this season. Models strutted down the runway in gorgeous peasant blouses, with lace inserts and billowing sleeves. Barely there camisoles in scarlett and black lace resembled underwear. Red lace bras were teamed with peak shoulder, tuxedo blazer and relaxed, man style pant.

High waisted, cascading, sheer maxi skirts had a Spanish / Flamenco feel to them. Bermuda shorts regularly frequented the runway. A gold, mosaic, cami dress was ultra sexy and a black cutaway, silk gown with tiered lace and chiffon skirt was pure elegance. Empire necklines featured on garments that included a lemon citrus and pale grey dress.

The signature Pucci print was evident on scarf belts and chiffon blouses that tied at the waist. The colour palette was an amazing kaleidoscope of colour. Shades ranged from scarlett to fuschia, lime to lemon, and lavender to turquoise.

Oversized, beaded crosses, worn choker style, adorned models necks. Ornamental earrings dangled from models ears. Stunning, statement pieces that completed the look beautifully.

Eyes were rimmed with kohl. This look was dramatic and smouldering. Hair was worn loose and undone with a side part.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria Summer 2012

Hervé Léger by Max Azria Summer 2012
The house of Hervé Léger is known for its ultra sexy, feminine, body con dresses which are designed to hug the body in all the right places and Max Azria continued to live up to that reputation this summer season.
Models were the epitome of empowered warriors and goddesses. There were plenty of body con, bandage dresses on display but this season the designs featured plenty of intricate detail, which included peekaboo cutouts exposing lots of flesh.
Standout pieces included a champagne, jacquard, bandage panel dress with a bandeau, ruched bust and flounce hemline. There was a black, strapless dress with macrame neck detail, a chocolate body con number with nude splices and for the cooler nights a fitted, collarless, leather jacket with brass plate panels.
Aztec influences were present and ikat prints featured on dresses in shades of soft blush, nude and camel. Braided harnesses were a welcome addition that toughened up the look. The finale piece was a show stopping white,Grecian style, plunge neck dress with thigh high splits and a fringing detail. The waist was cinched via metallic plates.
The colour palette consisted of rose gold, pearl gold, champagne, apricot, ice blue, dove grey and metallic silver.
Footwear was bold. Suede, bandage, warrior sandals swathed models shins and came in shades of tan/ ivory, camel/ terracotta and black.

Michael Kors Spring / Summer 2012

Michael Kors Spring / Summer 2012

This collection had strong African influences.

Garments included khaki, tie dye, kimono cape with utilitarian short, oversized striped kaftan, belted leopard one piece swimwear, ivory crochet, tasseled asymmetrical poncho, red snakeskin, plunge neck shift and a strapless maxi in shades of muted khaki, tie dyed.

Safari and tribal accents were evident throughout.

This ethnic collection would work exceptionally well into the wardrobe of every jet setting young woman. Everyday staples included khaki cutaway tanks, tangerine cashmere sweaters, sumptuous suede mini with pocket detail in desert sand and the very luxe, python trench. There were plenty of ponchos and kaftans to throw over sexy, cut out, snakeskin maillots. For night time opt for the feather, tiered, maxi dress worn by Frida Gustavsson. Animal prints aren't going away anytime soon and this collection featured leopard print (small and large), zebra, tiger and snake.

Michael Kors accessories were statement making and made a strong impact on the runway. Covet worthy accessories included a burnt orange snakeskin choker, a toffee / ivory ponyskin over the shoulder satchel and snakeskin desert booties. Gladiator sandals added an edge to garments. Take note, this style of footwear is best left for long, lean, legs as the under the knee style shortens the leg dramatically. Belts featured attached mini purses at the hip which resembled a bumbag.Octagonal cuffs were stacked. Necklaces featured large, circular discs.

Overall this collection was eminently wearable.

This fall season the Roberto Cavalli woman is a rock n roll, gypsy.

Animal prints that were prevalent included leopard, zebra and snake.

The colour palette consisted of olive, burgundy, navy, nude, musk and metallic shades such as copper, bronze, gold and gunmetal grey.

Accessory wise, think big and bold. Animal print cuffs and gold scalloped cuffs adorned models wrists. Flower motif necklaces graced models decolletage. High heeled snakeskin moccasins and vertiginous lace up ankle booties were a glamorous accompaniment.

Beach Goddess Chic

Beach Goddess Chic

Release your inner beach goddess this summer. Draw inspiration from Vogue Paris editorial "Paradis Bleu", starring Karmen Pedaru. This amazing shoot had a cover reprint in Greece and Portugal.

To achieve this look opt for maillots in shades of cobalt, sapphire, azure and royal blue.Embellished bikinis look oh so sexy, as do one pieces complete with cut outs. Think Emilio Pucci, perfect poolside. Team with crisp white. These tones compliment blondes, brunettes and redheads.

A kaftan is a great beach cover up, look for floaty fabrics such as chiffon which skim the body.I love Tigerlily kaftans and my favourite from the Spring / Summer 2012 collection is the Caravan kaftan. Camilla Franks kaftans come in eye popping shades that feature embellishment and sexy lace up styles, in mini and maxi lengths.Team with bejewelled sandals, designer must haves include;Azzedine Alaïa, Jimmy Choo and Roberto Cavalli. If heading out for cocktails afterwards this is an exotic beach to bar outfit.

Another great look is a tasseled poncho worn with distressed, denim, cut offs. Look for bleached denim which gives a relaxed, bohemian vibe.

Accessorise with yellow gold cuffs.Cuffs add impact yet still maintain a minimalistic look. Find gorgeous pieces from Pamela Love, Alexis Bittar and Peter Lang whose gold triple band cuff for $40 is a steal! Finish your look with a pair of bronze Chloe aviators.

Beach beauty tip: Soft, honey skin can be achieved with a sweep of bronzer. Pink, translucent gloss on lips, try Lancome Juicy Tubes mouthwatering melon shade. Molten metal eyeshadows work well as an eyeliner, apply water to your eye brush for a wet, glossy finish.

Gucci Fall 2012

Gucci Fall 2012

Gucci's Frida Giannini was channelling a chic, polished, 70s vibe this fall season.

Natasha Poly opened the show in a teal, shag jacket with velvet bodice, worn with a pussy bow blouse and voluminous pant, tucked into knee high boots.

There were sheer, sexy, silk, chiffon halter dresses, python pencil skirts, Mongolian lamb shearling coat, silk organza shrugs with embroided silk flowers.Sleek aviators framed models faces and fedoras with feather detail adorned models heads.

A strong feature in the collection was the colour palette. Unlikely shades were paired together, think chartreuse and violet, regal purple and dark forest green. Other colours seen on the runway included a pale blue , fur chubby. Black and white polka dots made a regular appearance.

High heeled suede and python sandals with ankle strap detail completed the look. Handbags were classic and had an Hermés feel to them. Think exotic skins in boxy satchels and hobo shapes.

Alexander McQueen Resort 2012

Alexander McQueen
Resort 2012

This collection by designer Sarah Burton had African, Indian and Spanish influences.

Garments had sharp tailoring, lots of clean lines and well structured pieces. There were plenty of streamlined jackets with nipped in waists in shades of camel, khaki, and black which were often paired with knee length skirts complete with kick pleat.

A black leather dress had a sexy yet demure feel to it. One of my favourite pieces was a trench coat which had a distinct military accent with a hint of African safari. The trench bodice was rich camel with khaki sleeves, shoulders and collar. Oversized pockets featured traditional embroidery consisting of shades such as mustard yellow, vermilion and burnt orange.

An instance of mixing the soft with the structured came in the form of a white lace blouse worn with wide legged, cuffed, 7/8 camel pant and accessorised with a lust worthy satchel complete with leopard print flap and burgundy handle. Waist cinchers were featured heavily consisting of triple buckles creating a defined waist.

Other looks included Spanish matador style, collarless high neck, white shirt with black button detail and high waisted pant. There was an empire line, tiger print dress, gold brocade, fitted peak shoulder jacket with detail on the bodice, cuffs and shoulders, sheer opulence.

Show stopping, red carpet numbers were the last looks shown in the collection, and they did not disappoint. A nude, apricot floor length gown had plenty of intricate detail, thousands of gold and bronze sequins in clusters to form flower and leaf motifs. Other evening looks included a black bodice with gold embroidery and sweetheart neckline with layers upon layers of silk faille, simply stunning.

Theyskens' Theory Resort 2012

Theyskens' Theory Resort 2012

Olivier Theyskens resort collection was all about casual chic and wardrobe staples, the 'must haves' in every woman's wardrobe.

These pieces are so easy to incorporate into everyday life and offer countless looks and options for the modern day woman.

Relaxed, boyfriend jeans in a bleach wash work well with masculine tailoring, think structured jackets worn with a loose, slub tee in a neutral colour. Add a pair of chrome aviators and a flat ankle boot to complete the look.

Fluid, jersey maxi skirt featured side splits and was paired with a shrunken, denim jacket which gave a modern, grunge feel to the look. There were pleated, tie dye halter vests with colours ranging from cream to burgundy to chocolate, bouclé, collarless jackets in taupe, floral, chiffon, flowing maxi dresses teamed with fitted, cropped leather jackets, slouchy linen sweaters, oversized baggy denim shorts, crisp white shirts, tanks in acid wash, tailored pants in diaphanous fabrics and cutaway LBD's(little black dresses).

Accessories included sequin hobo bags, small structured boxy satchels, vertiginous heels, black patent platform pumps, wedge heels with ankle buckle detail, flat ankle boots and brogues.

Vogue Espana April 2011

Vogue Espana April 2011

Reserva India (Indian Reservation)

This Vogue Espana editorial stars Toni Garrn, who is transformed into a Navajo, free spirited, hippie.

Designers featured in this shoot included; Roberto Cavalli, Balmain, Barbara Bui, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Maje, Isabel Marant, Ermanno Scervino and Salvatore Ferragamo.

To get the look of this shoot team suede, embellished flares with faded, vintage tees with college slogans, that have a worn in look. Wear distressed denim with Aztec, embroided ponchos. Sass & Bide have gorgeous ponchos, I particularly love the "Law Of Chance Poncho" and Australian label One Teaspoon do a great poncho in flush fleece named the "Native Poncho".

Look out for garments with fringing as this really completes the look. Shakuhachi do a suede fringed jacket in black, which retails for $450AUSD, which definitely has a Ralph Lauren feel, at a fraction of the cost.

Other key pieces include; lace blouses, silk petticoat dresses, lace up vests, patchwork denim, shrugs in natural fibres, caplets, desert booties, animal print (Python and leopard work well), cosy cable knit jumpers, skinny scarves, crochet vests, hipster slung belts, fur and shearling. Minnetonka do great footwear and accessories which are reasonably priced.

This editorial has some amazing pieces of jewellery. Look for pieces made by the Navajo, Zuni, Cherokee and Hopi Indian tribes. Turquoise is the predominant stone used in Navajo jewellery and it signifies protection from harm for the wearer. Tribes also believe the stones bring luck and power. Coral and onyx stones are also heavily used. Pile on bold cuffs, bear claw pendants, knuckle duster rings with clusters of stones, chains with crystals, beads with feather trinkets, sterling silver ear cuffs, the more the better. Feather head pieces look oh so cool but if they are a bit too much for you then go for a more subtle version, feather hair extension. This is a piece of suede decorated with beads, stones and feathers that ties onto your hair.

Hair and make up keep natural and minimal. Work with the natural texture of your hair. Try a loose braid or plait. Be sure to prep hair with sea salt to gain texture to work with. For makeup look to soft pinks, peaches and apricots which work well on lips and cheekbones or simply add an illumintor to cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and the cupid's bow of your lips.

Lanvin Resort 2012

Lanvin Resort 2012 Alber Elbaz

The Lanvin woman this resort season is ready for exotic travels abroad. Her body will be swathed in opulent fabrics and her feet adorned with bejewelled, gold sandals.

Key pieces included maxi dresses in shades of shimmering sands in diaphanous silhouettes, strapless bronze pleated bandeau cocktail dresses, silk fringed high neck cutaway dress in shades of peach, persimmon and terracotta, floor length yellow chartreuse pleat double thigh split gowns, nude floor length gown with tiered fine feather detail, metallic lamé mini kaftans, striped jumpsuits, khaki body con one shoulder mini dress with ruching, and mirrored billowing v neck maxi dress in silver.

Swimsuits were monochromatic, think plunging black one pieces and bright red one pieces complete with ruching.

There were accessories aplenty and jewellery featured heavily. Necklaces; long, mid length, chunky choker styles, beads and pendants were layered for full effect. Bags were small, boxy and ladylike often complete with long, chain handle. The standout was a wicker handbag with white leather trim. Minaudieres, and clutches were also on display.

Footwear included sky high t bar stilettos, flat sandals and wedges. Stilettos and flats were heavily embellished and ultra glam. For more support opt for the strappy wedge sandal.

Sunglasses had a retro feel, round and cats eye styles framed Daphne Groeneveld and Kristina Salinovic's faces. Headwear was prevalent and included Panama styles, wide brimmed raffia sun hats, turbans in earthy shades and head jewellery.

These garments and accessories are perfect for the woman who is a well versed traveller, enriched in various cultural experiences.
