GINGER AND SMART RESORT 2017
Design duo Genevieve and Alexandra Smart of Ginger and Smart produced an effervescent collection brimming with practically minded pieces. Charming, sophisticated garments flourished on the runway offering freedom of movement.
Swimwear was introduced to Ginger and Smart's Resort 17 collection, the show opening with a sleek, optic white, semi transparent, undulating one piece. Details included a round neck, keyhole, underwire bust, long sleeves, form fitting panelling and an open back design. Accessories comprised of raffia pool slides, arctic white weekender with rose gold hardware and a minimalistic bum bag worn nonchalantly on the hip. A mesh characterful sunhat featured a gargantuan brim which covered the model's entire face and back falling elegantly under the glutueus maximus, the ultimate in sun protection for an exotic excursion abroad.
A cornflower blue, sheer, off the shoulder kaftan oozed with fluidity. Swimwear was paired underneath consisting of high waisted black bottom, diamond torso cut out, floral, halter neck, crossover bust in delectable watercolour shades of cobalt, lavender, mocha and pearl. Simplistic oyster grey, strappy leather pool slides concluded the breezy number.
Energised cool dominated on a terracotta, off the shoulder one piece with sensual torso cut out. The swimwear acted as a bodice when married to a floral, high waisted, panelled, diaphanous midi skirt in delicate shades of blush, rose, sky, ink and lilac adding tenderness. The wraparound style featured plenty of body baring flesh on a hot summer's day.
A bold cabana stripe, asymmetrical, cropped flounce top starred in a colour palette of electric eggplant, azure, lime splice and vanilla. A matching voluminous mullet skirt was teamed to the crop and exuded good times and balmy nights spent in paradise. The striking shades and silhouette sure to garner plenty of attention.
A royal blue, sheer, lace tunic, offered gossamer airiness. Elongated sleeves worn off the shoulder engulfed fingers. A halterneck, t-bar design was layered to an athletic, cutaway royal blue one piece adding a geometric element to the softened arabesque.
Other key garments included a liquid silk, dusty pink, halterneck, bias cut, midi slip dress modelled by Nicole Pollard. A zig zag, wraparound woven mini skirt was layered to the dress with raffia fringing cascading from the hem. Minimalism versus maximalism came in the form of a snow white, v-neck asymmetrical crop layered to a bulky, raffia infested matador cropped jacket. A spliced torso melded effortlessly into a wraparound raffia mini skirt. Billowing, languid trousers offered an elegant interplay of draping when layered to the textural mini.
A fashion forward display evoking relaxed Australian prestige.

Byron Bay designer, Cassie Vecchione of bohemian label, Stevie May delivered an undeniably charming collection aptly titled 'First Bright' for spring 2015. Earthy neutrals embodying nomadic luxe reigned supreme. The peasant folklore muse took us on an exotic journey; think globetrotting adventures to the likes of Peru, Morocco and Guatemala with organically textured raw linens, Ikat prints and whispers of sensual lace playing a starring role throughout.
Key pieces included the 'Palace Nights Maxi Dress', a nonchalant, floral, wraparound maxi dress which was punctuated by shades of butterscotch, lady bug red, midnight and duck egg blue. The undulating pattern also graced languid Palazzo pants, a flirtatious playsuit and a free flowing maxi skirt. Quintessential bohemian wardrobe staples for the deluxe hippie.
Ikat was very much in attendance and highlighted the 'Diptera Top' and 'Ikat Mini Skirt'. Other garments to feature the bold graphic print included an open neckline, long sleeve mini dress, kaftans, panelled maxi dresses and kimonos. Technical fabrics and hand painted prints brimmed with pulchritude. Monochromatic Ikat looks were fused with denim accents.
Pattern lace evoked dark romance. "From the shadows saunters a freshness" stated Vecchione. The 'San Antonio Maxi Dress' channelled just that with sheer panels of obsidian lace igniting the come-hither number. A deep decolletage and fine ebony tie featured on the neckline while the dress flowed freely in relaxed proportions.
Other covert worthy items comprised of the 'Run Carolyn Kimono' and the 'Don't Tassel With Me' dress which displayed gold embroidery, rustic fringed hemlines in shades of oatmeal with raw effects dominating the tailored gypsy effect.
Isabel Marant devotees will rejoice over the 'Coral Garden Top' and skirt twinset. The structured, hand painted, navy grazing shell complete with ivory tassels was teamed to a drop waist flounce mini. With an affordable price point, attain the famed Marant signature look for less.

ALICE McCALL SPRING 2015
Alice McCall delivered a whimsical Spring 2015 collection replete with flirtatious, free spirited connotations. Playful silhouettes embodying seventies bohemian charm played a starring role throughout the design equilibrium. Model besties Avril Alexander and Kendal Schuler fronted the campaign, posing together in a series of characterful garments brimming with girlish charisma.
Standouts included duck egg blue, midrise corduroy lace up flares which also featured in the shade of ebony. The flares were teamed to a dainty cut-out floral bralet or sleek black for those who prefer a minimalistic approach.
Scalloped embroidery frequented romantic, peasant folklore concoctions alongside cropped, cutaway, halter key hole blouses and high waisted playsuits including the exceptionally exquisite 'Better Be Good To Me' playsuit in the hue of angelic seashell.
Textured, saccharine lavender pink knits appeared on calf length pencil skirt, spliced crop top, three quarter sleeve keyhole body con mini dress and a relaxed shoestring strap sweetheart jumpsuit featuring wide leg arabesque complete with thigh high split.
Delicate floral applique lit up transparent stomach grazing blouses. Oversized sleeves lent fragility and innocence to the equation. A matching trumpet hem midi skirt concluded the modernised twinset. For those wishing to bare their pins team to the sculptural, origami inspired 'Miss You' shorts.
Graphite and white intarsia knits featured undulating fauna in figure hugging contours, think cut-out bras, pencil skirts, jumpers, rompers and thigh skimming mini dresses.
Seventies playfulness reigned supreme on a striped salt n pepper dress. Fringing descended from under the bust and sleeve. The 'Higher Than The Sun' jumper version was paired to narrow, 7/8 lattice sheer trousers for those wishing to channel a tailored gypsy vibe, with a dose of masculinity thrown into the mix.
Saturated periwinkle blue, dominated a peacock motif, jersey, tie up, bustier playsuit. The striking pattern called for a sojourn to Florence. Languid Palazzo pants and relaxed shirt also featured the bold, crisp pattern.
Laura Ashley inspired paisleys made their way onto poetic bishop sleeve liberty print blouses, maxis and loose fitted shorts in relaxed proportions. Shades of sky, pistachio, blackcurrant and lapis punctuated the delicate pieces.
Linear cut cotton highlighted luscious, voluminous blouses, jumpsuits and cut-out shifts in dainty shades of wisteria and spring green.
Alice McCall debuted her swimwear line this season. Expect to see form fitting one pieces in black and white, seductive scoop backs and stretch lace inserts. For those who wish to opt for a bikini look no further than the 'Out Of Sight' twinset in a athletic design which includes racer front, adjustable straps teamed to stretch side Brazilian bottoms offering medium coverage.
'And She Was There, There She Goes' is an effervescent collection bursting with pulchritude, dropping in stores this August and September.

WATSON X WATSON sisters, Somer and Liberty Watson delivered a S/S 15/16 collection replete with seventies effervescence. Disco connotations flourished throughout resulting in sassy sophistication for the alluring perennial party girl. The collection was titled Day Walker with deconstructed glam proving to be the order of the day.
Model Megan Blake Irwin took to the runway in a reconfigured kimono jacket which featured sloping cocoon shoulders with sleeves pushed up nonchalantly to reveal pinstripe lining which also starred on the collar of the decolletage. A scalloped denim, paisley and quilted tie dye patchwork mini was finalised with lace up detailing which sat seductively on the upper thigh. Pinstripes continued to flourish on a sleek, slimline shirt which was paired to paper bag waist, white shorts and cropped architectural bodice which was worn over the shirt. A charming interplay of layering suffused with the elixir of youth.
An ebony, 3/4 sleeve, beaded fauna mini dress was a tantalising addition. A simplistic shoestring bralet was married to the dress for modesty. Clavicle grazing crystal drop earrings featured in circular discs and crystal strips by Australian jewellery designer Fiel Sol. Waxy cutout patent clogs concluded the look oozing of casual cool.
Demure proportions punctuated a crisp white midi skirt which was twinned to a tie dye quilted judo inspired jacket. The voluminous jacket was highlighted by dainty delicate florals which added a dose of sweetness.
Urban utilitarian chic dominated on a black roll sleeve tee which was accented by waxed leather inserts creating a heavenly textural mash up. Relaxed leather culottes fell high on the waist with industrial centre zip toughening up the arabesque.
Strut your stuff to the discotheque in the tomato red, slinky asymmetrical camisole complete with high-low hem which was tucked into tailored shorts with the tail of the cami billowing with every stride Jayne Baily took on the foil covered runway. The generous draping added the glam factor. Scintillating crystal strip cuffs adorned the wrists, the ultimate bling worthy accessory.
Double denim reigned supreme on a medium indigo wash staple denim shirt, a must have in every woman's wardrobe. The shirt was teamed to paper bag waisted Capri pants in laid back proportions. A quilted obi sash attenuated the waist creating a feminine silhouette. Nude wooden clogs were the footwear of choice.
Other standouts comprised of an Oxford shirt dress which was paired to a navy sateen trench and a boatneck embellished sheer blouse coupled to contemporary tuxedo 7/8 trousers.

Australian designer Jayson Brunsdon delivered a classically minded collection with a dash of androgynous refinement for his Spring / Summer 15 / 16 MBFW collection held at The Carriageworks. Pertinently titled 'A Rose Is A Rose', a quote from celebrated lesbian author Gertrude Stein, meaning "I am what I am", Brunsdon expressed the freedom to love of a romantic and rebellious spirit.
Madison Stubbington opened the collection in a raven shimmer Le Smoking jacket which was twinned to an ivory silk and organza French lace dress which fell elegantly above the ankle. Patent brogues added a touch of masculinity to the ensemble.
An ebony lace shell top was paired to a pearlescent peach French brocade pencil skirt. Streamlined feminine allure dominated the look. French brocade continued to star on an opulent duster coat which was teamed to a sequin ball skirt with delicate whispers of tulle adding ethereal qualities. Retro tenderness best describes this stylish concoction.
Mannish tailoring proved popular on languid crepe trousers which were cut wide and loose throughout the leg. An alabaster lace and duchesse shell featured sweetheart built in bodice and an asymmetrical, gargantuan bow complete with raw edge. The shell was shrunken to reveal a pane of torso baring flesh.
Retrofied leopard print in the punchy shade of watermelon frequented a sleek, knee grazing femme fatale skirt. A sensual black lace shirt featured luxurious silk collar. The time honoured black patent court shoe concluded the look. For those with a penchant for fifties rockabilly style look no further than the leopard boxy blazer complete with pocket square. Sleeves were pushed up nonchalantly and waist attenuated by a minimalistic leather belt. A black sequin tulle swirling skirt dandified the ensemble infusing enchantment to the mix. For French Riviera with a rock n roll twist try the black paillette lace tee top which was married to a taffy, black and ivory cabbage rose organza skirt.
The classic white shirt was updated in the scene stealing shade of vermilion, the silk placket oozed with grandeur. The shirt was accessorised with a delicate lace scalloped neck tie which cascaded elegantly. A black paper bag waist, lurex, jacquard heirloom skirt concluded the look.
The collection drew to a close with a series of majestic eveningwear looks bursting with pulchritude. Standouts comprised of a blanc and noir lace coat twinned to a matching sweetheart cropped camisole and duchesse 7/8 skirt.
As the models took to the runway for the finale a surprising outpouring of fresh scarlet rose petals cascaded from the ceiling adding a charming conclusion to the collection.

Bec and Bridge S/S 15/16
Designers Rebecca Cooper and Bridget Yorston of Bec and Bridge produced a Spring/Summer collection steeped in seventies, bohemian luxe. Practically minded pieces bursting with effervescence dominated the runway and are sure to delight Bec and Bridge's cult following. Pertinently titled 'The Dusk March' the collection delved into a sensual journey through the seductive desert landscape of Morocco.
The collection opened with an obsidian sun ray pleat, languid sun dress with suggestive diamond cut-out torso accompanied by silver arm cuffs and necklace. Knee grazing, robust gladiator sandals in ebony concluded the look. Raw and evocative of a stylish intrepid traveller. Diamond peek-a-boo shapes continued to frequent and starred on a free flowing skirt revealing a rose gold bronze bikini bottom which was teamed to a wraparound scarf inspired camisole.
Grecian Goddess references reigned supreme on a jewel toned sapphire, lurex asymmetrical dress. Details included elasticised waist and multi strap shoulder adornment, deconstructed glam at its best.
A succession of muted mango garments lit up the runway and featured on a geometric bandage crop, diaphanous hip hugging maxi skirt which was married to a shrunken sleeveless denim vest worn buttoned up to the neck for a play on rigid versus billowy.
Rachel Rutt modelled skinny coral denim jeans complete with biker knee patch inserts. The jeans were married to a midriff baring silk, deep decolletage blouse which wrapped seductively around the torso. Shifting sands that undulate beneath was the driving force behind the nomadic inspired attire.
Amanda Ware modelled liquid, molten metal scalloped jogging shorts and matching structured triangle bikini top. A round neck, body skimming fishnet top was worn over the top of the bikini for a sassy beach to bar ensemble. The highly anticipated swimwear line from B+B launched at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia and it did not disappoint. Key styles included cut-out monokinis in metallic silver, the classic triangle bikini updated in a star spangled print complete with centre jewel charm ornament, a vivacious opalescent khaki halter one piece with double centre ring detail and a nineties scoop neck one piece in paprika, lavender, rose and faded black asymmetric stripes. David Jones have already placed their order!
The collection concluded with a series of cocktailwear including a deep plunge, bandage wrap long sleeve mini dress with ruched shoulders, injecting pulsating energy into the equation. A midnight hued, tiered maxi with subtle rose gold diamond print was an impeccably glamorous accession with waist cut-outs lending a youthful edge. Dutch model Marthe Wiggers took to the runway in a ruby, sapphire and burnished bronze strip halter maxi. The iridescent strips were scintillating and flowed freely with every stride Wiggers made.

Manning Cartell's 'Marigold' S/S 14/15 collection was a culmination of deftly draped silhouettes twinned with hardened femininity. Punchy contours enveloped the model's lithe physique. Textural prints in eye catching shades oozed with avant garde qualities.
The collection opened with a phosphorescent muted lilac 'Frostings Cross Over Dress' in Italian lurex organza. The dress featured flounce flip skirt complete with centre waist triangle cut-out and structured bodice with asymmetrical neckline. The dress was married to a matching lilac boxy jacket with white collar and cuffs, gargantuan bust pockets and exposed off centre zip.
Polished perfection came in the form of the 'Wallflowers Column Dress'. A saccharine cotton candy pencil skirt fell below the knee and starred a delicate sweet pea print. The v-neck cami style bodice complete with dainty rouleau straps featured in ebony, colour blocking still playing an integral role, unmistakably very Manning Cartell.
A high voltage raspberry patent finish bralet was a compelling addition. The body baring crop was twinned to a sleek, high waisted pencil skirt with angled dart detail at the side torso. The skirt featured a grey marle centre panel on the back adding finesse to the garment. Sculptural arabesques dominated on a burnt mandarin boxy, apron style crop complete with oversized armholes and minimalistic white trimmings. A full circle skirt in ecru accompanied the 'Frostings' top. This graceful skirt oozed of old Hollywood glamour with a concoction of grandeur thrown into the mix.
Hardened femininity with conceptual Art Deco references highlighted the 'Fractured Roses Dress'. A racer front, waxed leather bodice adjoined to a midi length pencil skirt featuring colossal sherbet and tangerine blossoms and graphic pinstripe detail. Side torso cut-outs added sensuality.
A bold, exotic, intarsia zebra print starred on a cropped 3/4 sleeve knit. The fine knit was teamed to an asymmetric front wrap skirt falling mid calf. The wrap opening revealed a short skirt underneath. Decadence with a dash of provocativeness best describes this look.
A caged, floral Harlequin print graced a body skimming strapless dress. The classic silhouette of the dress was updated with modernistic print and torso cut-outs, impeccably glamorous for the fashion forward femme fatale.
Summer suiting brimmed with architectural lines. A monochromatic ink jacket with drop shoulder and tapered sleeve was worn nonchalantly over the shoulders of a stark, crisp white shirt complete with concealed placket and finalised with a bourgeois 'Neo Couture Skort'. Details included curved hem and welt pockets. Athleticism references were prevalent. Sporting luxe continues to be a hallmark feature in designer collections throughout adding a certain robustness to feminine silhouettes.

Sydney based designer Shona Joy's latest installment was a culmination of modern contemporary garments in abstract expressionistic prints. Fractured blossoms channelling artist Georgia O'Keefe were prevalent throughout. Saturated hues in elongated silhouettes offered striking arabesques.
The collection commenced with the 'Gallery Bustier Midi Dress'. Features included a v-spliced neckline, exposed gold back zip and panelled polyester floral print in shades of midnight, grape and clouded dove grey. This multi hued print continued on a succession of garments including a cutaway crossover body con dress, shift dress replete with ebony mesh inserts, racer font crop top and matching high waisted pencil skirt.
Bold turquoise, white, black and peach sorbet shades flourished on a racer mini shift dress with a dose of athleticism thrown into the mix. The print continued to star and amplify a sweetheart bustier cleverly draped mini dress, a maxi dress complete with asymmetrical hemline and gathered waist creating an interplay of draping. A more modest option for those not wishing to sport micro proportions this spring. For the lover of separates, a trend set to explode this summer, the boxy tee and relaxed mini short is a great option sure to satisfy the artist within with a strong penchant for all things Prada.
Colour blocking played an integral role in the collection and was evident on a bright tangerine, white and black off the shoulder, body con dress complete with shoe string straps, cut-out triangle detail at the side torso and centre front. The polyester, viscose and elastane blend was a winning combination, fashion forward and practically minded. Cotton polyester rayon lace in the shade of black frequented a mesh spliced midi dress. The transparent panels added a sensual edge to the demure silhouette. The fabric also dominated on a bustier jumpsuit and for the fashion fearless- culottes.
Leopard devotees will rejoice at the snow leopard 'Impressionist Racer Mini Shift Dress'. Updated with fresh spearmint and white panelled hem. Kimono fans will covet the poetic 'Mini Robe Dress'. Fluidity and romanticism reign supreme with billowy sleeves adding an oriental twist.

Ginger and Smart 'DUALISM' S/S 14/15
Adept design duo Genevieve and Alexandra Smart of Australian label Ginger and Smart produced an irrefutably modern S/S 14/15 collection aptly titled 'DUALISM'. The collection delved into the realms of double vision and duality with the duo drawing inspiration from the art form of double exposure photography.
The collection opened with an azure, teal and midnight cap sleeve, midi length dress featuring undulating reptilian fabric in a fluid silhouette. The exotic reptilian print also starred on a cropped boxy blouse with perforated sleeves, knee length elongated body con number, relaxed shirt dress and a sleek pencil skirt with plunging centre split in rose gold. Wardrobe staples included dainty, neutral, multi layered camisoles with industrial zip detail toughening up the arabesque.
A minimalistic, silk jacquard, pantsuit in ivory offered structure and texture. The protracted jacket oozed of masculinity. The streamlined trousers fell mid calf. The silk jacquard was reconfigured into a sassy, fashion forward jumpsuit. Clever waist drapery ensued a sleek silhouette with a dose of playfulness thrown into the mix.
Graphic ombre lace was a standout on a reptilian tiled, funnel neck, three quarter sleeved, midi dress in shades of ice silver and gunmetal. Sumptuous cocktail attire came in the form of the 'Broken Beauty' strapless dress. A feminine, sculpted dress complete with trompe loeil panelling and sensual centre split adding a provocative edge.
A dramatic floral print was present on a boatneck, waisted, knee length dress which embodied dark glamour with a hint of romanticism. A racer front dress, drop waist midi skirt and relaxed blouse also featured in the floral print. Bold graphic candy stripes in peony pink and turquoise were prevalent on a bustier, high waisted pencil skirt and shift dress. A blush, quilted, cropped bomber jacket brimmed with joie de vivre. A sweetheart bustier complemented the jacket and the look was complete when teamed to high waisted shorts in relaxed proportions.

Australian designer Michelle Cooke, of Billion Dollar Babes produced a jubilant line up for her S/S 14/15 collection. The collection kicked off with BDB's Resortwear line. Think exotic, maxi embroidered kaftans in staple shades of midnight and black, perfect beach to bar ensembles. Bohemian references reign supreme, brimming of energised cool. Gathered peasant blouses teamed with nautical striped bikini bottoms are a chic cover up option. Ideal for a tropical paradise sojourn. A sassy tropicana, halter jumpsuit comprised of gathered neckline, attenuated sash belt and palazzo pants in relaxed proportions. The tropicana print continued to feature on an azure, wraparound, flounce cap sleeve maxi dress complete with thigh high split, adding seductive charm.
Sporting luxe references crept in and were evident on a boxy mesh muscle tank and mesh jogging short. A drop waist, crew neck, short sleeve, flounced hem dress was a sizzling number for the bold. A striking, ombre, shirtmaker maxi dress in delectable shades of duck egg blue and indigo was a standout garment. The diaphanous skirt oozed of class.
Cocktailwear comprised of an asymmetrical, turquoise, graphic print dress with side split detail. A knee grazing, body con version was a sassy annexation. Lace played an integral role in the collection and starred on charming tennis tops, dainty pencil skirts and lace up kaftans in shades of spearmint, black and ivory.

Mimco's upcoming Spring/Summer 2014 collection aptly titled Roxstar Earthgazer, is a cornucopia of celestial delight. The intergalactic expedition showcases a treasure trove of charming accessories brimming with panache.
Futuristic wrist bling features on ornate cuffs, textural mash ups are prevalent on a glistening, patent, exotic zebra print envelope clutch complete with wrist strap. A relaxed, slouchy hobo in the shade of flamboyant peacock green is sure to garner plenty of attention. The staple shoulder satchel is updated in Crayola box blue and poppy. Bec and Bridge S/S 14/15
Bec and Bridge's S/S 14/15 MBFW collection was a culmination of liberated garments, rich in seductive charm. Perfect for the quintessential effervescent party girl. Figure hugging silhouettes flourished throughout the collection. Relaxed, androgynous garments with a hint of feminine charm were also thrown into the mix for the modern day tomboy.
Look 1 comprised of a patchwork indigo and chambray oversized jacket teamed to a racer front, two toned, knitted tank. Asymmetrical fringing detail graced the mid torso area. A raw hemmed, handkerchief tweed skirt fell to the knee. Sheer, white, mesh midi boots complete with black panelling and peep toe detail concluded the look. Fringing continued to dominate on a drop waist, knitted shift dress in relaxed proportions. Oceanic shades of blue lent a calming aesthetic.
A chambray, deep plunge, bustier dress came complete with high waisted, undulating tweed skirt which caressed every curve. A succession of stripes played a starring role yet again amongst designers at the MBFWA collections and this time were evident in the form of a halter plunge, white and black top paired to cropped, languid, flared palazzo trousers in horizontal navy and white stripe. Alexandra Agoston modelled a cut-away body con mini dress with wraparound waist adornment which fell mid calf. A stylish arabesque, punctuated with attitude.
A midnight and ebony blanket wrap jacket with black leather tie belt oozed of energised cool. A funnel neck, flat front placket, denim shirt dress completed the look. Bec and Bridge's signature second skin dresses featured in textural horizontal stripe with key hole detail adding allure. Hook and eye sutures in a rippling form dissected a navy jacket creating a silhouette bursting with magnetism and sculptural lines. An iridescent, hip hugging, ra ra skirt added an injection of youth to the equation. A Grecian Goddess, bandage wrap, halter top featured mesh sleeves and decolletage. This torso baring top was paired to a scintillating, high waisted, transparent skirt.
A standout, minimalistic, off the shoulder, ebony woven dress fell to the knee with a titillating thigh high split for an added dose of glamour. A strapless bodysuit was worn underneath for modesty. Clever drapery was evident on a strapless, velvet, basket weave top with crossover halter bust detail. A ruched, asymmetrical, PVC, ivory mini skirt with fish tail flounce concluded the look. Eighties references reigned supreme. A powder puff blue mesh dress was deconstructed glamour at its best. Spliced torso and undulating, strategically placed hook and eye detail oozed of sex appeal, a one shouldered mesh sleeve modernised the dress to a whole new level.
A terracotta red leather top in a waxy finish was a chic accession. This was married to a white asymmetrical flounce mini with fine pinstripe detail. A free form cape coat in eggshell with leather lapel adorned the model's shoulders. Pyjama inspired shirting made its way onto the runway in the form of a relaxed, button down, striped shirt with black placket and press stud closure. Matching culottes in micro proportions concluded the look.
A convivial display sure to delight Bec and Bridge devotees aplenty.

Michael Lo Sordo's S/S 14/15 collection was an irrefutably modern display. Androgynous, lackadaisical, liberated silhouettes were very much in attendance. Bourgeois chic flourished throughout the collection offering seductive charm.
Alexandra Agoston wafted down the runway in a double breasted, monochromatic, pinstripe shirt complete with dolman sleeve detail. The tailored shirt was teamed to a generously cut, maxi skirt which was cleverly draped to reveal an asymmetrical centre split.
Myf Shepherd modelled a delicate, heavenly white, slip dress, perfect for the boudoir. The silhouette was updated with a soft, billowy trench worn attenuating the waist adding a dose of delicacy to the mix.
A masculine tuxedo starred in pearl white, sleeves worn pushed up ever so nonchalantly with satin lapel oozing with glamour. A translucent, neckerchief adorned the neck and was married to a layered, oversized cami with double key hole feature and finalised with an understated, free flowing trouser lending a languid silhouette. Duck egg blue headlined a 3 piece suit comprising of bralet, tailored blazer and high waisted trousers replete with a fluid aesthetic.
Subtle athletic references reigned supreme on a relaxed, slimline, single breasted blazer in fine pinstripe fabric teamed to silk neckerchief and minimalistic v-neck bralet. Plenty of flesh on display, toned abs are mandatory. Insouciant, hip hugging trousers brimmed with devil-may-care attitude.
A mouthwatering, lemon sorbet hued trench was a polished addition lending a softer edge to the more masculine dominated pieces featured in the collection. A matching blouse was teamed underneath. Sculptural, distinguished lines were present on a snakeskin, textural, cocoon blouse in 3D knitting technology. Bouffant sleeves created volume. A matching, knee length, pencil skirt concluded the look. A seductive, mottled, sea snakeskin, patent, triangle bralet oozed of sensuality. A wraparound, high waisted, knee length skirt offered provocation. A romantic mauve rose, maxi dress featured diaphanous, layered, handkerchief hem. Lavender foil, triangle bust and spaghetti strap detail lent a sci-fi edge to the garment. The waist was drawn in by material gathered to create the illusion of a sweater tied around the torso.
Ballet connotations reigned supreme on a peony pink dress consisting of asymmetrical neckline, refined peak shoulder and free flowing, thigh high split. A dusty rose trench coat adorned Stephanie Carta's right shoulder as though the trench had been casually slung over the shoulder. An enigmatic silhouette brimming with bewitchment.
A groundbreaking collection for the illustrious Lo Sordo who is a design stalwart beyond his 30 years.

Aurelio Costarella's 'SOLAIRE' collection embodied sensuality, pulchritude and impeccable glamour. Costarella drew inspiration from American photographer Man Ray of the Surrealist and Dada movements, Polish Art Deco artist Tamara de Lempicka and model / photographer Lee Miller. Film noir silhouettes reigned supreme brimming of silver screen splendour.
Look 1 comprised of an opalescent, embellished body suit featuring shades of champagne and ice silver teamed to minimalistic wrist cuffs. Swarovski crystals in the shape of a crescent moon graced the model's face adding a iridescent sheen.
A dip dyed, cutaway cocktail mini dress featured in shades of heavenly white, muted lavender, violet and dramatic ebony. Celestial feathers highlighted the dress' ethereal qualities. Layered black cuffs added a dose of masculinity to the arabesque.
A Jean Paul Gaultier inspired, metallic gunmetal, sculptural mini dress with tulip silhouette, triangle multi peplum and boned torso detail oozed of modern sci-fi connotations. Attitude and panache required. A sensual leather, plunge, sweetheart neckline, body con halter dress was a vampy addition with textural panels adding an edge. Leather continued to feature on a bustier evening dress complete with diaphanous, chiffon strip maxi skirt and theatrical sheer top with beaded cap sleeve detail.
Flamboyant fuchsia starred on a willowy, fish tail, floor grazing gown with metallic studs caressing the torso. A peekaboo cut-out under the bust added flirtatiousness. A saturated persimmon, corset dress featured embellished bust and waist detail with a sheer skirt billowing with every stride Alice Burdeu made. A scintillating, strapless, floor length evening dress comprised of silver leaf and ebony sheer overlay. A sumptuous number sure to make an appearance on red carpets aplenty.
A figure hugging, blanc, strapless plunge, centre split full length dress offered a dose of provocation. Model and TV personality, Laura Dundovic wore the lime splice version to the recent TV Week Logie Awards. The bold shade was a refreshing choice amongst the sea of predictable black and flesh toned gowns.
Costarella's 'SOLAIRE' collection offered a delectable mix of drama, sass and sophistication with arabesques reminiscent of 1920s / 1930s Parisian theatre.

Alice McCall's S/S 14/15 collection aptly titled 'In My Dreams We Were Flying' conjured up imagery resplendent of utopia and lucid dreams. McCall described the collection 'A celestial exploration of the imagination' which was the driving force behind the collection.
The show opened with a seventies, starch, cotton maxi dress featuring crew neck, oversized arm holes, drop waist and broderie anglaise waist detail. Alexandra Agoston emerged wearing a soft white, saccharine, strapless romper with crescent moon neckline. Clever drapery was on display with skort proportions with delicate embroidery gracing the outer thigh.
A sloping shoulder, structured,cap sleeve mini dress with a colossal sized peplum came complete with lace decolletage, dainty, youthful connotations reigned supreme. Think Picnic At Hanging Rock with a modern contemporary spin.
A mesh muscle tank teamed to matching triangle bralet drew inspiration from Gucci's current S/S 2014 collection. The tank was married to a skort with Japanese influences, origami folds created shape and added playfulness to the silhouette. Mesh also starred on free flowing, high waisted flares worn tucked into a mesh high neck tank.
The time honoured staple tea party dress featured starch white cotton adorned with subtle polka dot detail complete with scalloped hem and neckline, shoe string straps evoking the look of innocence. A crochet playsuit for the innovative mermaid consisted of exposed shoulder, cut-out torso detail with artisanal qualities. Expect to see this piece on bohemian babes aplenty from Bondi to Byron Bay.
A pistachio hued playsuit with knife pleats look fit for the boudoir, batwing sleeves, cascading ruffles and femininity are sure to garner plenty of attention. A muted aquamarine, sateen, cropped blouse featured scalloped flounce and hem. This was accompanied by a midi skirt complete with thigh high split which was softened and sweetened when teamed to the blouse.
Mouth watering shades of gelato continually dominated the collection and were evident on flirtatious, frolicsome garments brimming of polished nonchalance. White aspirin dot mesh appeared on a transparent, round neck, long sleeved, waisted maxi dress. Embroided rosette triangle bralet and high waisted knicker accompanied the look. An oversized envelope clutch with kitsch digital print accessorised the look. Wonderland actress, Emma Lung wore the ebony version to the TV Week Logies Awards. Lung was present at the show and gushed of her love for the collection. She is clearly 'Team McCall'.
A neoprene, sculptural, cocoon blouson in ice blue came complete with digital print by US-based collage artists Beth Hoekel and Eugenia Loli. Images comprised of 'bejewlled hands swirling through cosmic skies'. This was twinned to an iridescent, sky blue, scantily clad skort, modelled by Rachel Rutt. Pop Art connotations continued to creep in with peony hued lips, bows, telephone and bread plastered throughout a sweetheart neckline, bouffant sleeved romper. Sheer arabesques included a cropped tulle blouse with water lily embellishment twinned to matching fishtail midi skirt.

Australian designer Carla Zampatti celebrated her 49th anniversary in the fashion industry this year and her MBFWA Spring/Summer collection titled 'Darker' did not dissatisfy. Avant garde, contemporary contours played a starring role in the collection offering cultivated beauty and grace.
Aussie export Nicole Pollard opened the collection in a structured, crepe, jumpsuit featuring clean, minimalistic lines with flared trousers producing a languid silhouette. A simplistic black band choker and wrist straps accompanied the look.
A boatneck, peak shoulder, floor grazing column dress oozed with sleek, Zen like qualities. The look was complete with a waxed leather belt attenuating the waist. Footwear comprised of bondage inspired strappy sandals brimming with attitude.
Former ANTM winner Amanda Ware emerged wearing a standout body con, jersey bolero twinned to a navel baring bandeau paired with waist hugging fluid flares in ebony.
Masculinity reigned supreme on an oversized tuxedo with deep plunge jacket and crepe 'That 70s Bell-Bottom' pant complimenting the look, think a modern day version of YSL's Le Smoking tuxedo.
Garments took style cues from Tom Ford's 2002 YSL collection with grosgrain ribbons adorning the chest. A model strode with conviction wearing a diaphanous porcelain, georgette shirt with dolman sleeves worn tucked into a high waisted, floor length, crepe noir skirt with side split allowing for freedom of movement. The shirt trailed elegantly behind.
Stephanie Carta made a return to the runway in a chartreuse, high-low full skirt, grazing the mid thigh. A daisy, texturised, strapless bustier and body con bolero finalised the look.
Provocation dominated on an alluring black lace cocktail dress featuring dare to bare colossal key hole detail. Lace also played a starring role on 'Sheer Perfection' bell bottoms which were married to a chiffon, transparent halter top modelled by Rachel Rutt. Impeccable tailoring was evident on a sculptural snow white blazer complete with shoulder rosette embellishment. A fitted, stretch, pencil skirt was a polished addition. Fragility, ethereal, feminine qualities ruled on a strapless, chiffon dress with gossamer a airiness present.
A Grecian Goddess inspired creation came in the form of an ivory, floor length dress consisting of nude fabric swathing the decolletage lending the appearance of a strapless dress. A fifties inspired, sheer ribbon banded dress with crinoline skirt was a majestic accession which would've looked stunning on screen siren Grace Kelly.
Electric cobalt blue lit up the runway on a series of garments including a pulchritudinous evening dress and skirt, feather chubby and a georgette 'Cleopatra' gown which was an impressive number.
Maddison Brown closed the collection in a tangerine, cropped, ostentatious feather chubby teamed to a georgette, halter, handkerchief hem dress. A clear plastic visor accompaniment lent a sci-fi edge.

Maurie and Eve's Spring / Summer collection brimmed with eighties silhouettes and sporting references. Plenty of flesh was on display with athletic arabesques dominating the collection.
The Maurie and Eve clientele is a young woman who is fashion forward, trend savvy and keen to experiment with various looks. She isn't afraid of bold prints or eye popping shades of colour resulting in a confident, body baring spirit who is clearly comfortable in her own skin.
Key Spring pieces available in store now include a silk animal pinafore dress, embossed skater skirts, halter neck dresses in floral geo, burnt tangerine and leopard.Monochromatic black and white panelled shifts, apron crops and pencil skirts offering clean, minimalistic lines. Scuba inspired pieces were constructed from neoprene adding a sleek, functional feel to the garment.
Summer pieces included a white muscle tank with amethyst azalea panelling paired with a high waisted stretch pencil skirt complete with undulating hemline. The azalea print also featured on a racer front, midi dress worn spliced at the torso. A crisp, modern addition bursting with the elixir of youth.
An Isabel Marant inspired Ikat motif, overblown sleeve blouse was of relaxed proportions. A high-low ebony skirt with scalloped hem concluded the look.
A khaki, cheongsam neckline, mosaic lattice bomber jacket was complete with fluidity. A turquoise, silk, crossover bust, halter jumpsuit in 7/8 length was a chic, stylish, statement making garment. Centre split shin detail put a creative spin on the look resulting in a glamorous piece reminiscent of something Jerry Hall would've donned in the seventies. A tailored, bohemian, flavour springs to mind.
Reptilian fabrics played a starring role in the collection and were found on a body con dress with cut-out torso detail, chocolate goddess bustier and micro, hipster, paper bag shorts.
Frayed, tortured denim shorts channelling Candice Swanepoel's editorial in Spanish Vogue 2013 edition were worn revealing plenty of gluteus maximus. Distressed, ripped, sand blasted denim boyfriend jeans were worn with a stomach baring crop, think nineties Calvin Klein advertisement. Bauble sized pearls were strewn around the neck creating a juxtaposition of styles.
An architectural, oversized polo tee was twinned with white denim cut-offs, a cheeky addition. A sensual lace tee was worn with a dose of androgynous appeal. Lace also made an appearance on a knee length skirt with libidinous centre split worn with white opaque mini underneath. A seventies long sleeve, body skimming lace jumpsuit was worn with a plunging white bodysuit for modesty.
Rich mocha and ink cowhide prints were evident on jogging shorts, funnel neck crop tank and second skin dresses.
Closing the collection were a series of black sequined cocktail wear pieces comprising of a structured bustier, culottes and a 3/4 length jumpsuit only for the flamboyant and dauntless.

Sisters Genevieve and Alexandra Smart of Ginger and Smart produced a directional collection replete with immaculate tailoring. Ebony, architectural lines encased and punctuated garments whilst peony blossoms softened the hardened exterior.Fashions model of the moment, Julia Nobis opened yet another show in a structured blazer worn lackadaisically around shoulders. This look was paired with conformable bralet, very Dolce and Gabbana, high waisted, fitted pencil skirt and cement shaded leather gloves. Navy, sky blue and ivory platform sandals with ankle strap detail completed the look.
Other looks included cropped, man style pant suit in sky blue linen silk comprising of loose, fluid trouser, bralet and streamlined blazer. A mesh and floral digi motif, relaxed fit crop was married with tailored, floral short and elongated silhouette blazer.
A Roland Mouret inspired creation came in the form of a black cap sleeved dress featuring sculptural torso panelling and caged floral peony bodice. A result ending in a clever play on visual illusion.
A cropped, monochromatic Archetype jacquard pant was paired with a boxy, collarless jacket and a minimalistic dark cocoa and black leather tote, think House of Celine.
Athleticism crept in on a cropped, halter blouse in black featuring delicate, whimsical,antique, ivory lace overlay. This garment was paired with the 'Incision' jacket in blackberry silk and 'Love Bite' high waisted, panelled pants in blackberry lace, oozing with effortless charm.
A runway standout sure to fly off the racks this spring / summer was an effervescent lace and silk crew neck, body con, ivory and black above the knee dress, featuring black scalloped lace 3/4 sleeves and trompe l'oeil effect panelling, drew attention to the waist. Polished, ladylike black suede and leather gloves finished the look.
Sumptuous guava sorbet 3 piece suiting bursting with allure is inevitably set to be on the wish list of fashionistas aplenty.
A Proenza Schouleresque ensemble comprised of navy, cobalt, mint and emerald cropped, jacquard jacket, cropped exotic undulating leopard silk shell top and high waisted scuba inspired pencil skirt featuring navy and mint panelling, pure finesse.
A multifaceted, geometric, kaleidoscope of colour was evident on a kimono style, plunge v-neck blouse featuring spliced shoulder detail.
Hi-tech fabrics such as coated linen with leather like qualities graced garments including stone jodhpurs.
Closing runway looks included poetic, flourishing florals which made an appearance on athletic arabesques and a striking pant suit full of vivacity.
