BURBERRY FALL 2016

Christopher Bailey of Burberry produced a Fall 2016 collection evoking seventies bohemian teamed with regimental accents. Military precision tailoring was a hallmark feature. The colour palette predominantly starred in shades of moss, forest, khaki and olive.

Lineisy Montero took to the runway in a clashing ensemble which comprised of and emerald green, midi length, leather, python trench and a jacquard, collared shift dress with playful, pleated mini skirt paired underneath. The jacquard shift featured an electric diamond pattern in metallic shades of jade, amethyst and lime, Hefty moto boots in patchwork python were married to ebony, patterned, chevron tights.

A voluminous, high shine, black parka featured jumbo shearling collar in the shade of vanilla. The plush collar framed the shoulders adding grandeur to the equation. A wide, multi hued, snakeskin belt attenuated the waist. A lavender and chartreuse jacquard mini dress was twinned to the parka. A boxy, exotic, reptilian satchel featured a grommet infested wide strap, utilitarian qualities reigning supreme.

Dark romance prevailed on a haunting floral maxi modelled by Belgian Yumi Lambert. A round neck, sleeveless design was punctuated by a rectangular, panelled key hole and diaphanous skirt. Snakeskin piping worked beautifully against the metallic flora in tones of cobalt, crimson and lavender. 

Boho innocence kindled the runway in the form of a sequin spangled, short sleeve, collared, thigh grazing mini dress. Large floral motifs were plastered throughout with sensual chiffon underlay. A collage of mustard and paprika snakeskin ignited almond toe heeled brogues. Black leather fringing detail concluded the look adding femininity to the masculine style.

Burberry's signature check made an appearance on a relaxed wool coat which fell under the knee. A scintillating, metallic gunmetal silver mini dress was paired underneath offering a juxtaposition of casual cool weekend attire versus London 'It' girl ready to let her hair down at an uber cool bar. Dishevelled half up, half down do with upper pony worn creating a shaggy, eye sweeping fringe oozed of fashion renegade..

A collarless, structured cape coat in midnight featured cascading gold buttons brimming with polished panache. An embellished, beaded, fringe flapper dress was beckoning to light up the dancefloor.

Rich tapestries in jewel tone hues coupled to luxurious fabrics and feminine silhouettes equalled a collection bursting with personality and vivacity.

BURBERRY PRE FALL 2016

Christopher Bailey's Pre Fall offering was tinged with seventies, retro, connotations. Quintessential, British style was on the agenda and resulted in striking silhouettes with a dash of attitude.

Amazonians need only apply to wear the sumptuous, patchwork, raccoon and fox fur duffle coat in voluminous proportions. Shades of flecked honey, charcoal, vanilla and licorice punctuated the statement making coat. Black, leg lengthening flares were polished and featured crisp, white stitching.

The archival trench was updated this season in heavenly chocolate suede. A protruding collar was worn high at the nape of the neck. The trench fell to the knee cap and an ebony, suede wide belt graced the torso, complete with gold hardware buckle. A mini chartreuse, crocodile and Burberry check satchel was suspended from a capacious, gold chain handle. Narrow, navy, tailored trousers engulfed footwear.

Aviation references were prevalent on a shearling, oversized, bomber jacket. Butter soft caramel suede was highlighted by colossal sized, double breasted, gold buttons. A tasselled chain backpack oozed of downtown, London chic.

Shearling continued to star on a military inspired, khaki parka. The cosy, fashion forward addition embodied utilitarian qualities. A black, neatly collared blouse was worn tucked into raven, elongated trousers that sat low on the hip. A textural check and leather satchel finalised the look.

An A-line, neutral trench with chocolate stitching brimmed of classicism, clean, polished lines took centre stage, a Burberry staple designed to withstand the test of time.

Dark romance kindled a form fitting, crew neck, t-shirt. The sassy tee was paired to dark indigo, denim trousers with a bohemian element prevalent. A boiled wool cape coat offered regimental qualities to the mix. A compact, bordeaux hued satchel was a textural delight in fabrics consisting of suede and ostentatious crocodile.

A series of feminine dresses closed the collection including a funnel neck, short sleeve,drop waist, pleated mini which starred in forest green and mandarin hued fauna and flora, complete with black piping. Wooden, platform, block heeled ankle boots in suede were the footwear of choice. Seventies nostalgia crept in on a black, chiffon, maxi dress. Details included buttoned epaulets, preppy collar, chest pockets, white zig zag panelling and ruffled skirt, monochrome peasant folklore for the statuesque beauty.

An undeniably charming collection fused with Burberry's heritage, hallmark features.

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2016

Venerable designer Christopher Bailey of Burberry delivered London upper crust elegance for his Spring 2016 collection. Bailey's designs are invariably imbued with a sense of sophistication; think sensuous, guilty pleasures steeped in luxury. The collection opened with a transparent lace, ebony, drop waist tiered slip dress, complete with scalloped hemline. A lattice panel plunged to the navel. The spidery slip evoked gossamer airiness toyed with a suggestive game of hide and seek. A lightweight canvas trench with gold accents was layered to the dress for modesty. Mammoth chains festooned platform pool slides complete with rubber soles which added a nonchalant approach to the ensemble. 

Model Lameka Fox took to the runway in a mushroom, lace, empire line mini dress. Details included deep decolletage neckline, long sleeves, contrasting black lace panelling under the bust which flowed effortlessly into a body skimming, thigh grazing arabesque. Gold regimental buttons encrusted pool slides combining ostentation to the mix. 

Lace galore continued to dominate the runway and highlighted a sculptural guipure lace and mesh trench dress. Bailey's ingenuity prevailed yet again. Floral applique flourished throughout lending a playful edge.

A sheer peony pink, embellished, shapely mini dress comprised of insert mesh pleats, structured bodice and lattice panelling; a heavenly textural delight. Caged gold and black platform ankle booties strengthened the silhouette. Matte berry stained lips, translucent satin complexion and a neutral eye complemented the flirtatious standout. 

A contemporary skater dress featured in goffered silk. A floral print in a colour palette consisting of mulberry, milk and ink illuminated the youthful concoction. A grommet and gold chain nylon backpack was slung low on the rear and oozed of the nineties grunge factor.

Binx Walton modelled a lemon curd, crew neck, stretch lace tiered mini dress brimming with girlish charm. The saccharine number called for a high tea session for ladies who lunch. The unanticipated combination of heavy pool slides complete with badge motif continued to frequent dainty creations aplenty.

For the Burberry vixen; an aspirin dot mesh, transparent, maxi dress in the shade of oxblood. Details included spliced keyhole, concertina collar, built in ebony mesh waist cincher and provocative thigh high split. Release your inner starlet with this sophisticated, fashion forward, eveningwear number.

Gothic glam reigned on a billowy, box pleat, cape coat which was of midi length proportions. The arresting coat was twinned to a midnight, vintage style, silk mini dress. Intricate beadwork showcasing couture craftsmanship graced the dress in floral patterns consisting of shades including gold, topaz, silver and ruby. An under the bust mesh insert revealed a window pane of flesh.

A romantic collection fused effectively with techy sportswear, with a strong nod to the 1940s.

Designer Christopher Bailey's latest Fall 2015 offering aptly titled Patchwork, Patterns and Prints embodied deluxe, nomadic hippies with impeccable style.

Amber Anderson opened the collection in a floral, psychedelic poncho in shades of turquoise, teal, navy, olive and chartreuse. Indian floral motifs added an ethnic edge to the fettuccine, suede fringed garment. Patchwork scarlet, ink and fudge over the knee boots oozed with artisanal qualities. A simplistic, black suede bucket bag concluded the look. Gold rivets accessorised the base of the bag.

A sumptuously good, retro inspired midi dress featured a round neck, streamlined full length sleeves and black piping on the waist, bust, neckline and thighs accenting Mica Arganaraz's femininity. A menagerie of florals in complementary shades of candy apple red, cherry and cloud blue worked harmoniously together on this free spirited number. The look was accessorised with 60s inspired, round tortoiseshell shades, teal pom pom adorned bangle and a dark grape, suede fringed, bucket bag. 

The signature, staple Burberry trench was updated in a bold botanic khaki and orange print complete with border print hem. Perfect for the flamboyant flower child. An uplifting addition which was paired to the patchwork, blanket stitch boots. A hallmark feature in Mr Bailey's collection.

For those who prefer to take a walk on the wild side- release your inner prowess with the leopard, shearling duster coat. A great statement, neutral piece sure to add plenty of grandeur to any outfit. The coat was modernised with an attached black waistcoat, acting as a harness complete with ribbed undulating panels caressing the outline of the bodice. Military green, coffee and ebony fringed suede booties were a heavenly accompaniment.

The nomadic excursion continued with a characterful, Indian inspired mirrored shell top in earthy hues. Details included sloping shoulders teamed to a tiered, fringed midi pencil skirt in camel. A clutch handbag in the signature Burberry check complete with mocha suede tassels was tucked nonchalantly under Iania Godnia's arm.

For the free spirited grown up with a strong appreciation of luxury, the forest green, gossamer lace maxi is an absolute must have. Sheer bodice complete with black crochet bib insert, subtle short puff sleeve, grosgrain ribbon belt attenuating the waist, flowing freely into multiple layers of whimsical lace. Ethereal qualities ruled, think Merlin meets medieval high end fashion. Black, tasselled, suede platform boots with deep foot decolletage concluded the look.

Burberry's Christopher Bailey produced a charismatic Pre Fall 2015 collection enriched with grandeur and vivacity. This collection revolved around the hallmark Burberry coat and leather moto jacket. The signature trench was virtually abolished with Julia Schurig modelling a single updated version in brindle suede complete with tribal embellished yoke and collar. A cashmere, fringed camouflage scarf in shades of dove grey, sand and mocha complemented the earthy tones featured on the trench.

A sloping shouldered, boxy, blanket wrap, cropped aviator jacket was a voluminous addition. The shearling collar brought an energised cool factor to the mix. A ribbed, scoop neck knit in the shade of buff was paired to 7/8 tailored narrow trousers in ink. The look was accessorised with a free flowing, khaki camo scarf, racy leather stiletto peep toe ankle boots and a crocodile and python mini duffle bag complete with shoulder strap. A heavenly textural delight offset by gold hardware.

A shaggy shearling coat in burnt toffee was an absolute standout, generously cut with 3/4 sleeve detail twinned to a caramel fudge, suede bowling bag with gold chain handle and staple ebony trousers.

Release your inner wild child with a bold leopard print woollen overcoat. A poetic, collarless, button down bib, lace applique tea party dress with drop waist detail, reminiscent of 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' was twinned to the jacket. Opaque raven, ribbed stockings and stretch suede, flat, over the knee boots completed the look. A black pebbled, leather mini duffle bag with bow detail finalised the look.

A dainty, clover print flourished on a navy, silk georgette dress. Features included a plunge v-neck, sheer long sleeves, navy opaque geometric bust and torso panelling creating a trompe loeil effect. The drop waist revealed a romantic double layer, flounce hem falling mid thigh. The clover print continued to star on a round neck, short sleeve, clover strip, transparent mesh, form fitting mini dress. A dark chocolate velvet bow belt attenuated the waist adding innocence to the provocative number.

An oversized Aztec inspired blanket coat in indigo, teal and cloud fell above the knee and was worn with pure insouciance. The tribal design paired to the staple camo scarf added nomadic, globetrotter qualities to the mix.

A pileous coat reminiscent of Scottish Highland cattle exuded rustic, deconstructed glamour. Colossal sized horn buttons graced the coat which brimmed with finesse. A basic scoop neck tee was layered to a black knit and quintessential slimline trousers.

For the rebellious at heart- a cropped, shrunken leather moto jacket complete with leopard collar and multiple zip pockets. This jacket is an absolute must-have! Paired to an ebony, lace shift dress this was an enticing combination of masculinity versus femininity.

A buttermilk and indigo textural shearling bag with mahogany leather trimmings created another dimension to the Gothic glam look.

Another dapper collection from Mr Bailey replete with gusto and fashion forward bravado.

Burberry's Christopher Bailey delivered a prestigious collection replete with practically minded pieces brimming with sass and charisma. The famed trench coat was transmogrified yet again with pulchritude dominating throughout the collection.

Marique Schimmel opened the collection in a butterscotch, streamlined, military inspired trench dress. Details included colossal sized tortoiseshell buttons and 4 bellows pockets. A burnt terracotta, slimline belt attenuated the waist. T-bar, delicate, wedge sandals in the sumptuous shade of blush and leather bowling bag with art deco inspired print accessorised the look.

Stripped back, natural hues and fibres were evident on a raglan, button down top featuring mesh panelling and bone coloured horizontal stripes. The top was worn tucked into a matching midi length skirt with waist pleat detail and flounce falling above the knee. Sporting elements crept into the ensemble which was updated with a leather tote with printed phrases adding a kitsch element. The mesh fabric also starred on a crew neck, fitted peplum blouse which was teamed to a midi length pearlescent pailette embellished skirt.The staple signature trench was modernised in an ombre lace finish. Ivory melded into warm shades of teak. The lace lent fragility and femininity to the garment. 

Midnight navy made its way onto a bourgeois, transparent blouse paired to a sensuous, sheer calf length skirt with sash waist detail. A polished, sculptural blazer was a stellar accompaniment. Bailey drew inspiration from nature with the phrases "Rolling Fields" and "The Rainfall Explores" emblazoned across a body con pencil skirt with printed fabric in shades of forest green, ice blue, lady bug red and chocolate fudge with leaf stencilling. A fawn top featured an oversized apple motif in shades of navy, teal and khaki. A poetic, ecclesiastical, dusky rose tiered petal skirt was a captivating addition. The sheer decadence of the skirt played off charmingly against the simplistic, insouciant, ribbed henley tee. Joie de vivre reigned supreme.

A peony pink, layered, raffia skirt was a guilty pleasure. The skirt was teamed to a colour block blouse channelling the seventies era. Turquoise, canary yellow, toffee, black and white starred on the graphic shirt, an unusual combination that was irrefutably modern. A dip dye, collarless, plunge, waisted dress was a juxtaposition of innocence and exhibitionism. Pleated bust panelling and enticing thigh split added the va va voom factor. A similar breezy version featured in the dark gothic shade of grape.

Elongated arabesques tinged with stylish, majestic, military connotations were present throughout. Lady like garments are sure to delight the polished Burberry woman with an appreciation of tailored, effortless chic.

Designer Christopher Bailey of Burberry Prorsum embarked on a design affair rich in classicism coupled with meticulous tailoring which resulted in an enchanting collection bursting with panache.

A minted turquoise, knee grazing dress featured spliced keyhole to the navel and gathered waist detail. An elegant, body skimming, sensual addition which was complete when paired with the time honoured ankle strap stiletto embodying pure femininity.

An angora wool, muted mauve, midi length, pencil skirt oozed with textural qualities. The skirt was married to a printed graphic shirt complete with road map fabric. A black, floral, jacquard, double breasted jacket worn with sleeves pushed up effortlessly, accompanied the look. A diamond print, mocha and black bowling bag featuring gold accents and a pair of suede, intricate lace up, ankle wedge booties, with peep toe, were the accessory of choice. 

The staple Burberry trench was reinvented in a grey and white London street map fabric, collar displayed protruding, pure ingenuity by Mr Bailey.

Jewel tone, emerald green, brocade, baroque skinny leg trousers had plenty of rock star appeal. A shrunken, leather, bouffant, cropped jacket came complete with plush fur detail. Romance ruled on a forest green, chiffon, scoop neck, sleeveless dress with ruffles, flounces and a drop waist. A midi length hemline and enticing side split added allure. A mahogany bowling bag with mod squad print oozed with Prada connotations.

A colossal, black fur luxury collar was married to a chunky, navy, crop cardi jacket. A tee with architecture motif and a rich khaki angora wool pencil skirt finished the look which evoked deconstructed glamour.

An ink, ostentatious fur chubby was worn with a midi length transparent lace skirt which skimmed thighs. Other standout garments included a blanket wrap cape coat in cobalt and sapphire baroque trousers. A sumptuous, high neck, black fur caplet was twinned with a sapphire, body con, stretch velvet embroided dress.

A floor length, v-neck, side split, scarf print dress was teamed with a shrunken leather moto jacket with fur shoulder and wrist detail. Cultivated beauty was toughened up with this fashion forward jacket.

A ruby, jacquard, brocade trench dress brimmed with consummate class. The epitome of regality. Possibly a future ensemble to add to Princess Catherine's collection.

Burberry Resort 2014 Collection was a heady mix of polished luxury deconstructed and provocative librarian twinned with classic, heralding Burberry DNA. Ladylike, panache contours were evocative of sugar and spice woven with a dash of naughty and nice.

The introductory look constituted of an ivory angora jumper with ribbed cuffs, shoulder and band detail, jewelled collar featuring oversized citrine gems with bronze and crystal accents. This was paired with a transparent, stretch lace, tube skirt which had a crochet like effect. The skirt was of midi length proportions, Christopher Bailey's choice hemline of the collection. It was married with towering, sculptural, peep toe wedge ankle booties in the shade of winter white. These boots would look right at home in an art installation at the Museum Of Contemporary Art.

A military inspired, boiled wool trench in ebony was worn belted by an ultra skinny leather belt buckled and knotted ever so chicly. A juxtaposition of a thick, cumbersome wool paired with a fine, delicate belt. Structured, peak shoulder detail and wrist strap detail added finesse. 

Ethereal, dark glamour came in the form of a Victorianesque, high neck, lace blouse featuring flat front navy placket. A soft sumptuous clutch in the hue of bubblegum pink was tucked under the arm offering a strong volt of colour. 

Architectural lines graced a collarless, peplum jacket complete with flower like corsages acting as epaulets, a matching streamlined trouser finished the look. A midnight, doily lace overcoat had Japanese, kimono references, this was paired with a transparent, ebony, lace shift.

Dolce and Gabbana, Prada, Emilio Pucci and Roberto Cavalli influences were apparent on numerous runway looks including a white, intricately embellished tee featuring diamond and floral sequin motifs married with Spanish lace, scalloped hem tube skirt, completely sheer, leaving little to the imagination. Opaque undergarments are a necessity.

A charcoal, long sleeve, button down polo top was accompanied by a sequin, gossamer, a-line skirt starring exquisite craftsmanship on embroided flowers. The time honoured khaki trench was reinvented with jewelled rosettes scattered throughout the body of the trench adding a touch of allure and ostentation.

Shades of pistachio made appearances on a stretch lace, knee length dress complete with tiered columns of lace on the bodice. A mint cashmere cardi complete with Mother of Pearl buttons was teamed with matching cashmere cami which was tucked into a burnished bronze tube skirt with white back panelling. Pastels continued to reign supreme on an ice blue, sculptural jacket which sat neatly on the hips, this in turn was paired with a white floral stretch lace dress.

An inviting eveningwear look came in the form of a deep forest green, off the shoulder, exposed decolletage, midi length, body con dress with cross over bust ruched lace detail with refined embellished waist belt.

Leather envelope clutches and crocodile totes dominated the runway in vibrant shades of strawberry red, eggplant, emerald, butterscotch caramel and peach Bellini.

Designer Christopher Bailey of Burberry Prorsum produced a sexually charged display this fall season, married with lady like magnetism.

This fruition led to libidinous rubberised garments, kitsch cartoonish knitwear and the time honoured staple trench transmogrified yet again with panache.

Brit model Edie Campbell revealed the opening runway look which comprised of signature Burberry taupe trench, mushroom rubberised gun fold and sleeves, artillery inspired metal belt and decorous kitten heels which were vamped up in an exotic, leopard ponyskin. Demure versus siren, replete of bourgeois chic.

Incongruitous prints including an angora, leopard print knit paired with love heart emblazoned high waisted knickers and transparent pencil skirt were a juxtaposition of naughty and nice. A butter caramel, grommet infested baguette bag was tucked neatly into the palm of model Cara Delevigne.

Spells of fetishism were evident on garments including a two tonal, oxblood leather and rubber panelled pencil skirt twinned with contoured love heart print shirt complete with leather collar.

Military accents were found on trench coats and updated in a colour palette full of rich claret and textures including pebbled, patent leather.

Chunky, bouffant sleeved, ribbed knitwear in sumptuous butterscotch was paired with a panelled, animal print pencil skirt featuring alternating, inconspicuous leopard print versus bold, capacious leopard print.

A manifestation of cocoon coat arabesques were prominent on a gargantuan zebra and giraffe print silhouettes and a vermilion, minimalistic coat featuring metal cuff inserts accessorised with drawstring, ponyskin tote.

Fringed, leather grommets punctuated an oxblood a-line skirt paired with modern polo tee featuring epaulettes and diminutive chest pockets and a trench coat was transformed into a textural delight with avant garde qualities.

Cocktail wear included a mahogany bustier, scarf hemline complete with crossed leather halter straps and midi length skirt. Karlie Kloss modelled a ebony, strapless, 3/4 length dress with asymmetrical shoulder strap detail framing the neck.

A white, rubberised trench reminiscent of a raincoat was a tres chic wet weather gear addition. This look was paired with a cow hide pencil skirt and giraffe print turtleneck knitwear. 

Drawstring pouchettes were the star accessory of the collection. Available in a range of plaid, animal print, leather and grommet encrusted hardware.
