WATSON X WATSON sisters, Somer and Liberty Watson delivered a S/S 15/16 collection replete with seventies effervescence. Disco connotations flourished throughout resulting in sassy sophistication for the alluring perennial party girl. The collection was titled Day Walker with deconstructed glam proving to be the order of the day.

Model Megan Blake Irwin took to the runway in a reconfigured kimono jacket which featured sloping cocoon shoulders with sleeves pushed up nonchalantly to reveal pinstripe lining which also starred on the collar of the decolletage. A scalloped denim, paisley and quilted tie dye patchwork mini was finalised with lace up detailing which sat seductively on the upper thigh. Pinstripes continued to flourish on a sleek, slimline shirt which was paired to paper bag waist, white shorts and cropped architectural bodice which was worn over the shirt. A charming interplay of layering suffused with the elixir of youth.

An ebony, 3/4 sleeve, beaded fauna mini dress was a tantalising addition. A simplistic shoestring bralet was married to  the dress for modesty. Clavicle grazing crystal drop earrings featured in circular discs and crystal strips by Australian jewellery designer Fiel Sol. Waxy cutout patent clogs concluded the look oozing of casual cool.

Demure proportions punctuated a crisp white midi skirt which was twinned to a tie dye quilted judo inspired jacket. The voluminous jacket was highlighted by dainty delicate florals which added a dose of sweetness.

Urban utilitarian chic dominated on a black roll sleeve tee which was accented by waxed leather inserts creating a heavenly textural mash up. Relaxed leather culottes fell high on the waist with industrial centre zip toughening up the arabesque.

 Strut your stuff to the discotheque in the tomato red, slinky asymmetrical camisole complete with high-low hem which was tucked into tailored shorts with the tail of the cami billowing with every stride Jayne Baily took on the foil covered runway. The generous draping added the glam factor. Scintillating crystal strip cuffs adorned the wrists, the ultimate bling worthy accessory. 

Double denim reigned supreme on a medium indigo wash staple denim shirt, a must have in every woman's wardrobe. The shirt was teamed to  paper bag waisted Capri pants in laid back proportions. A quilted obi sash attenuated the waist creating a feminine silhouette. Nude wooden clogs were the footwear of choice.

Other standouts comprised of an Oxford shirt dress which was paired to a navy sateen trench and a boatneck embellished sheer blouse coupled to contemporary tuxedo 7/8 trousers.

Versace Fall 2015

VERSACE FALL 2015

Queen of enticement, Donatella Versace transported models to the seventies and eighties decade for her Fall 2015 collection. Pulsating energy was injected throughout with glamazon powerhouse connotations reminiscent of the original ubermodel era prevalent.

Versace  sweetheart, Natasha Poly took to the runway in a rigorously cut, pinstripe coat dress. A mammoth belt complete with lustrous silver square belt buckle attenuated the waist. A venetian red turtleneck featured a Greek key motif which also accompanied opaque tights and a plush, quilted envelope clutch. Saturated cherry red frequented a sleeveless, funnel neck, jersey mini dress. Details included step flounce hem, crystal embellished belt and peek-a-boo slit positioned high on the neck. Stretch suede thigh high boots were finalised with a Greek character chrome heel and platform sole as worn by catwalk maestro Karlie Kloss.

An oversized canary yellow shag coat was married to a turtleneck blouse which was tucked neatly into high waisted, flat front, tapered trousers  in a streamlined arabesque. The fur coat also starred in a knee grazing version in a brash shade of emerald green modelled by Kaitlin Aas.

A compelling skater girl raven dress was amplified with a libidinous decolletage splice revealing a window of flesh. The fluid skirt featured a titillating thigh split.

A riot of primary colours was evident on a ribbed, cropped, shrunken bomber jacket emblazoned yet again with the Greek Versace key motif. Eye popping royal blue, jade green, aureolin and crimson made for an electrifying combination. A mid thigh length full circle skirt added a flirtatious edge. Logos galore were plastered across garments throughout the collection, think monogram sweaters, leather jackets and hip hugging flares cut short on the ankle.

German model of the moment Anna Ewers modelled a star spangled, crystal encrusted, beaded and sequined strapless mini dress. Hashtags and @ symbols graced the mesmeric, lavish number. The Versace characters adorned chain bracelets adding a kitsch element to the ensemble.

Other covetable garments included an asymmetrical cocktail dress in the mood boosting shade of sunglow yellow, a fire engine red cape coat accessorised with gargantuan sunglasses, turtleneck and patent leather thigh boot which oozed with fetishism. For the enigmatic, the staple ebony trench dress was updated to feature tooled leather Greek key panelling.

A collection replete with rebellion and devil may care attitude. Exemplary for the statuesque beauty with a penchant for all things lavish.

Ginger and Smart Australian design duo, Alexandra and Genevieve Smart produced a radiant S/S 15/16 collection aptly titled 'LATITUDE'. Understated elegance flourished throughout with distinguished lines, fluid and sculpted silhouettes very much in attendance. The collection was driven by a powerful yet gentle shift in perspective due to the awakening of the strange and fragile beauty that surrounds us.

Flame haired model Madison Stubbington opened the collection in a billowy, long sleeved, drop waist midi dress in shades of rosewater and oyster grey. A graphic print flourished over the entire dress adding a modern edge to the feminine aesthetic. Crusader caged charcoal booties concluded the look.

Robustness ruled on the 'Plexus' racer front halter dress in dove grey. The silhouette was attenuated by the 'Encase' leather belt. The gridded dress fell to the mid calf accompanied by a sensual centre split for freedom of movement.

Model of the moment Astrid Holler showcased a strapless, asymmetrical drop waist dress complete with raw hem detail across the decolletage. The bronze number featured a libidinous thigh split. A flirtatious number perfect for balmy summer nights.

Australian flora and fauna were the driving force behind the 'Fracture' kimono wrap blouse in ebony and the swirling silk 'Ghost Gum' full skirt. The languid silhouette was toughened up by charcoal gladiator sandals complete with deluxe rose gold hardware.

Diaphanous pulchritude brimmed endlessly on the 'Oceanic' gown. Details included high neck, contrasting alabaster lace chest panelling, monochromatic print and free flowing skirt with a hint of transparency. 

A boatneck, flounce sleeve lace shift was a romantic addition in virginal white. A strapless body con slip dress in micro proportions was teamed underneath for modesty. Southern Hemisphere laces of desert rose were the inspiration behind the fabric selection. Lace continued to be a hallmark feature throughout the collection and was redefined on a number of garments including a one shouldered lace bodice dress complete with spider orchid print skirt, halter cocktail dress with robust shoulder straps and a cutaway midi dress in the shade of jade.

Sculptural lines ruled on a sleeveless, cropped, v-neck shell in the delectable shade of pearlescent mint. The shell was twinned to the matching full 'Coastal' skirt. A combination brimming with ladylike demure. A Banksia print thrived throughout adding whimsy to the mix.

The collection closed with a succession of eveningwear attire. Burnished rose gold bronze, dissected abstract prints starred on a series of garments including a high waisted pencil skirt with sensual side split, body con plunging v-neck shift and a sleeveless cropped swing top. Raven plumes graced embellished tanks, full circle skirts and an ebony dress which featured a scoop neck, sheer bodice with intricate embroidery which flowed seamlessly into the opulent feathered skirt.

A compelling collection with neo romantic connotations contrasting strength and delicacy, masculinity and femininity.

Aurelio Costarella S/S 14/15

Aurelio Costarella's 'SOLAIRE' collection embodied sensuality, pulchritude and impeccable glamour. Costarella drew inspiration from American photographer Man Ray of the Surrealist and Dada movements, Polish Art Deco artist Tamara de Lempicka and model / photographer Lee Miller. Film noir silhouettes reigned supreme brimming of silver screen splendour.

Look 1 comprised of an opalescent, embellished body suit featuring shades of champagne and ice silver teamed to minimalistic wrist cuffs. Swarovski crystals in the shape of a crescent moon graced the model's face adding a iridescent sheen.

A dip dyed, cutaway cocktail mini dress featured in shades of heavenly white, muted lavender, violet and dramatic ebony. Celestial feathers highlighted the dress' ethereal qualities. Layered black cuffs added a dose of masculinity to the arabesque.

A Jean Paul Gaultier inspired, metallic gunmetal, sculptural mini dress with tulip silhouette, triangle multi peplum and boned torso detail oozed of modern sci-fi connotations. Attitude and panache required. A sensual leather, plunge, sweetheart neckline, body con halter dress was a vampy addition with textural panels adding an edge. Leather continued to feature on a bustier evening dress complete with diaphanous, chiffon strip maxi skirt and theatrical sheer top with beaded cap sleeve detail.

Flamboyant fuchsia starred on a willowy, fish tail, floor grazing gown with metallic studs caressing the torso. A peekaboo cut-out under the bust added flirtatiousness. A saturated persimmon, corset dress featured embellished bust and waist detail with a sheer skirt billowing with every stride Alice Burdeu made. A scintillating, strapless, floor length evening dress comprised of silver leaf and ebony sheer overlay. A sumptuous number sure to make an appearance on red carpets aplenty.

A figure hugging, blanc, strapless plunge, centre split full length dress offered a dose of provocation. Model and TV personality, Laura Dundovic wore the lime splice version to the recent TV Week Logie Awards. The bold shade was a refreshing choice amongst the sea of predictable black and flesh toned gowns.

Costarella's 'SOLAIRE' collection offered a delectable mix of drama, sass and sophistication with arabesques reminiscent of 1920s / 1930s Parisian theatre.
