Designer Ralph Lauren delivered a classic, contemporary collection fusing country, the south west and city slicker connotations for the modern day American woman. It was an exceedingly wearable collection paired with Lauren's luxurious design DNA. 

An oversized, ribbed, knitted jumper in the delectable shade of peanut brittle was worn nonchalantly off the shoulder. A matching slouch beanie oozed of casual cool. A sumptuous suede, pencil skirt featured an asymmetrical hemline and was worn tucked into the cosy knit. A milk chocolate and cream, ponyskin, cowhide and suede tote featured suede fringing while peep toe, terracotta suede booties added a sophisticated edge.

A ribbed, oatmeal cardigan starred deluxe fur panelling. A streamlined, classic white shirt was paired to the cardigan and vanilla fudge , leather skinnies complete with ankle zip detail. Fringing highlighted suede, braided, latte hued stilettos with ankle strap. Fringing continued to make an appearance on a honeyed, buttersoft, gargantuan, drawstring hobo.

Downtown cool reigned supreme on an insouciant ensemble comprising of a basic grey marle tee, tweed waistcoat which was layered to a terracotta leather, knee length coat. Grey wash, hipster denim skinny jeans were tucked into midi length, tan cowboy boots.

A sensual, seventies suede outfit modelled by Aussie model, Bridget Malcolm consisted of a shrunken, tan suede blazer and matching narrow suede flares. A white shirt was worn unbuttoned adding allure.

A muted khaki slip dress incorporated boudoir dressing. The slip dress was highlighted by a plaid, monochromatic shirt which adorned the waist. An androgynous leather biker jacket was thrown over the shoulders. Chunky charcoal, knitted socks were married to platform, suede, clogs.

Metallic accents ignited pewter, moto skinny jeans. A cashmere, charcoal turtleneck poncho was married to a military green fluid blouse. A Navajo inspired hobo in neutral tones added earthiness to the free spirited number.

A black and white pinstripe suit was updated in youthful proportions. Tailored shorts featured a loose leg silhouette. A masculine, oversized blazer was coupled to a sleek waistcoat. An ebony boiled wool pork pie hat accompanied the dapper combination.

A series of luxe, athleisure wear closed the collection and included a silver, metallic quilted jacket, molten metal puffer vest, full length tights in block colour and Ikat prints, lacquered 3/4 tights with contrasting olive panelling teamed to an American Indian print derived hoodie.

A practically minded collection with a succession of garments that are loyal, reliable and hard working in a woman's everyday wardrobe.

Ralph Lauren launched his brand new Polo womenswear line at New York Fashion Week. A jubilant lineup bursting with striking, characterful garments with disparate qualities.

The collection opened with a scalloped lace decolletage and cap sleeve, black knee grazing dress worn belted with Lauren's inescapable felt beret. Black leggings were paired underneath. A look I've never personally favoured. Round toe, patent Mary Janes and a drawstring bucket bag with black tassel detail accompanied the dress.

A navy and forest green plaid poetic dress featured a Peter pan collar and puff ball sleeves. A matching plaid mini cylindrical handbag was carried with joie de vivre.

A riot of colour played an integral part in the collection and was evident on a lime spliced cashmere angora knit teamed to a leather mini skirt with kick pleat silhouette. A mint leather duffle bag was slung casually over Martha Hunt's shoulder, oozing of Parisian nonchalance. Other vivid shades to appear on the runway included a bold tangerine cardigan paired to crisp white shirting, a canary yellow overcoat and a jewel toned emerald green parachute parka.

A culmination of effervescent Navajo inspired garments for the free spirited globetrotter were nostalgic of previous Lauren collections. A hallmark feature Lauren is famed for.

Yulia Kharlapanova modelled a desert sand, suede, v neck maxi dress complete with breast pockets, two side splits and was of midi length. A generously cut, chunky, woven colourful serape in punchy shades of vivid red and teal blue supplemented the dress. Accessories included chunky taupe knitted socks tucked into mocha hiking boots and a low slung sterling silver Navajo belt.

A shrunken toffee leather jacket with fringing was twinned to a khaki jersey maxi dress, plaid Ikat press stud shirt and an oversized leather chocolate tote.

Patchwork shirting comprising of florals and plaid was paired to a coffee tweed blazer, leather leggings, turquoise beaded necklace and fedora.

A handkerchief hem was prevalent on a chiffon, floaty, romantic black and vermilion floral dress which was toughened up when paired to a cropped, leather jacket adorned with stud embellishment and multiple souvenir and Scout like badges.

Masculine, boxy, oversized pinstripe suiting of relaxed proportions emulated the eighties with high waisted fluid trousers worn with a russet belt with gold buckle detail. This was teamed to a cherry red plaid shirt, an unlikely combination lending a modern spin.

A lumberjack plaid parka was layered to a black and white double breasted pinstripe blazer, black raglan tee and suede cigarette trouser. Details including lacing from the knee down to reveal a fluted ankle and platform lace up ankle boots. Beauteous bohemian turquoise concho earrings completed the look.

Ralph Lauren's latest Resort 2014 Collection was amplified with delicate, wasp like attitude. A poetic refinement was injected into the collection resulting in defined silhouettes exuding consummate class.

The collection opened with the time honoured black felt beret worn nonchalantly to the side. A racer front, athletic torso dress with drop waist layered georgette skirt oozed of the fifties flapper era, femininity reigning supreme. The dress was paired with an ice vo-vo crossover top inspired by ballet dancer attire. Footwear consisting of patent courts with dainty ankle strap emulated tap shoes.

Contemporary dance references continued on a black, cotton lycra leotard paired with a chiffon wrap around skirt with side tie detail worn layered over 7/8 leggings. Court shoes with satin ribbon ankle detail were reminiscent of point shoes.

A cashmere, funnel neck sweater, shrunken in proportion came complete with ribbed cuffs, hemline, and neck. A black, sarong style midi length skirt with asymmetrical hemline accompanied the look as did a free flowing trouser worn tapered at the ankle.

A billowy, cotton candy, organza transparent blouse worn knotted at the waist brimmed with romanticism qualities. This was twinned with a sweetheart neckline, strapless dress, crossover ruching featuring at the bust. The hemline fell elegantly below the knee cap. A snood neck organza poncho with leather trimmings was married with a black shoe string unitard, only for the trim, taut and terrific.

A sultry satin trench dress which wouldn't look out of place in the boudoir was replete with kimono references. The trench was drawn together at the waist by a corded belt featuring a circular, Mother of Pearl disc. A burst of colour flourished on a lavender, suede, man style trench oozing with androgyny, worn nonchalantly, collar protruding. This was twinned with a black turtleneck sweater and tailored, narrow leg trouser.

Glossy leather leggings acting as second skin were matched with a boiled wool ebony mini trench. An ornamental chrome collar with graphic connotations graced Valentina Zelyaeva's chest.

A knife edge, pleated skirt in a monochromatic floral print was worn with a velvet crossover complete with satin lapels, cuffs and waist belt. A deep plunge, sleeveless graphic print dress featuring leather vertical strips and cummerbund detail was the perfect cocktail annexation.

A closing runway look consisted of a boatneck column dress flowing diaphanously. A wraparound organza sash created a nipped in waist. An exposed back with crossover strap detail was perfect for the body beautiful.
