Norwegian born designer, Peter Dundas delved deep into psychedelic bohemia for his latest S/S 2017 collection. Exotic, artisanal excursions to the 1970s decade proved popular once again for the retro, gypsy, aficionado. American Indian cultural references were fused to Scandinavian style elements, think Navajo blanket wraps teamed to wooden, soled clogs.

A riot of colour starred on a patchwork, billowing, tiered, floor grazing maxi dress. A scoop neck complete with empire waist featured on the ethereal design. Scintillating gold pailettes ignited the bust area. Patchwork floral combinations were highlighted in a kaleidoscope of colour including glistening gold, cherry, marshmallow, fuchsia, lemongrass, cobalt and magenta. Embellished sequin panelling adding an iridescent sheen. A matching bishop sleeve bolero was twinned to the opulent maxi. A statement, bejewelled, sapphire choker festooned the neck.

Languid, embroidered, burnt mandarin, silk, velvet flares brimmed of energised cool. Intricate handiwork was evident on a silver, floral embellishment which cascaded down the outer thigh. A hip hugging, sterling silver Navajo belt was slung low on the hips. A body baring, deep decolletage, lace up blouse complete with frayed chiffon trimmings was showcased in a  radiant electric blue, floral patchwork. Over extended, flared sleeves screamed of nonchalance. A reptilian, ebony, fringed leather waistcoat was layered to the navel gazing blouse. An ornate tiered choker with matching dream catcher earrings was the bijoux of choice ideal for a well versed globetrotter discovering ethnic finds at worldwide bazaars.

A velvet, cropped, cornflower blue, matador inspired jacket starred peak shoulders and a narrow silhouette. Black, decadent embroidery oozed with enchantment. A vintage, rock tee in the shade of grape was worn tucked into a tiered, patchwork, hippie, column skirt, gossamer airiness fused with flamenco connotations dominating the arabesque. A rock goddess, skinny scarf accented the neck resulting in a hap-hazardous combo for the free spirited, characterful woman. 

A plunging, eveningwear dress featured rouleau straps with cross decolletage detail. Lively, caged panelling in the shade of eggplant caressed model Faretta's curves effortlessly. Delicate craftsmanship imbued a defining quality. Undulating beadwork flourished on sheer panels in a colour palette consisting of peony pink, forest green, lemon curd, eggplant, cobalt and lavender.

Bold cabana stripes frequented the runway and were evident on a sleek, 7/8 side split trousers, lace up peasant blouse, lace up flares, waist coat and form fitting blazers.

A dandified, nomadic display with tenderness very much in attendance. Ostentation and impeccable glamour on the agenda.

Italian designer Lorenzo Serafini of Philosophy created a wondrous Spring 17 collection enriched in guilty pleasures. A sensual game of hide and seek featured throughout with sylph silhouettes and flirty feminine garments reigning supreme on the runway. Serafini cited the cult Brooke Shields movie The Blue Lagoon as inspiration for his design acumen fused with Victoriana references.

A series of admirably wearable petticoat dresses in virginal white, oozing with tenderness opened the collection, think whispers of silk highlighting spidery slip dresses complete with rouleau straps, handkerchief hemlines and chevron lace panelling adding an ethereal touch. Wide, leather wrap belts festooned with gold studs nipped in the waist resulting in an 80s arabesque. 

American model Taylor Hill modelled a patchwork lace, halter, maxi dress. Opalescent pink flounces framed the decolletage. Delicate aspirin dot mesh starred in ebony, scalloped citrus lemon lace and boudoir ballet pink lace trailed effortlessly. Slouchy, black leather ankle boots hardened the enticing number.

A whimsical, liberated, bourgeois slip dress featured a transparent, ruffled lace bib in pearly pink. Playful layers of lace ignited the thigh grazing ensemble injecting luminosity. The staple leather wrap belt continued to attenuate the waist.

Victoria's Secret model Stella Maxwell modelled a sheer, ivory, round neck, subtle bishop sleeve blouse. Pearl buttons highlighted the placket. A black, waxy leather corset belt was married to the floor grazing, billowy, frothy lace maxi, romance very much in attendance.

Anna Mila Guyenz modelled a Spanish style, flounce, swirling skirt with asymmetrical mullet hemline. The high waisted skirt featured a bold flora and fauna design in shades of lemon meringue, forest green and peony pink. The underside was punctuated in hues of midnight and lemon curd. Raw effects including a frayed hem added earthiness to the flamenco style skirt. A leather tassel lariat dangled freely form the neck. A braided leather wrap wristlet brimmed of bohemia. Relaxed, floral midi boots were the footwear of choice taking all things botanic to the next level.

Other key garments included distressed denim corsets teamed to frayed denim cut-offs, bibbed blouses and a cutaway drop waist tunic all in the shade of mid western blue. Dusty  musk, sensual suede high waisted trousers were of 7/8 length and emblazoned with gold studs. A fanciful, grandpa collar, lavender peasant dresses with dip dye citrus yellow flounce hem offered freedom of movement. A fringed, leather, biker jacket in molten metal shades of striped mint, mauve and lime offered a futuristic spin on the staple moto jacket.

A stellar display embodying sheer insouciance with a dash of romance thrown into the mix.

  Doyenne of La Vie Boheme, stylist designer Rachel Zoe launched a collection replete with nomadic luxe for her Resort 2016 display. Ebullient gypset combinations were the order of the day, radiating playful charm. 

The collection opened with a knitted intarsia grape and mulberry, plunge, column, floor grazing maxi dress. Gold lurex fauna ensconced the dress whilst flame red autumnal leaves added a jolt of colour to the ensemble.

Nonconformist, three piece suiting featured loose, tailored shorts, tuxedo blazer and a pussy bow blouse in a floral tomato and ebony hued print. A striking full length double breasted trench was worn nonchalantly over shoulders.

Wild child peasant folklore ruled on a lace up, corded, deep decolletage, floor sweeping dress. Details included bell sleeve and drop waist hemline. Red carpet worthy eveningwear came in the form of a coruscating sequin full length dress. Candy stripes in shades comprising of magenta, raven, eggplant and cherry lit up the incandescent garment. The dress featured an open back cut dangerously low above the gluteal cleft. Are you ready for your close up?!

A cranberry aubergine ombre shag coat was paired to a cropped sangria hued turtleneck and matching body skimming column maxi skirt. Team with a floppy fedora and round sunglasses for the ultimate in seventies allure.

Boysenberry narrow suede flared trousers sat neatly on the hip and were married to a tandoori, liquid satin blouse complete with neck tie and bishop sleeve. An elongated faux fur vest completed the look. As the seventies trend continues to prevail on runways worldwide, Zoe showcased a heavenly suede, fringed trench coat in burnt terracotta reminiscent of aromatic spices you'd uncover at an Indian spice market. A patterned satin scarf resulted in an outfit emitting pitch perfect style.

A streamlined, long tuxedo vest in ivory was paired to languid trousers complete with black racing stripe adornment. A transparent blouse added delicacy to the masculine tailoring.

A silver sable flecked stole starred alongside an alabaster poetic blouse and a textural boxy duster coat with leather trimmings. Cropped, flare trousers revealed triple strap crystal encrusted stilettos, a glam accession for day or night.

A raven, collarless sateen jacket featured black and gold fringing which encompassed the jacket's entirety. Leather and suede flared chaps were a titillating addition. Perfect for the night owl.

A burnished gold, metallic, diaphanous maxi was undeniably the trophy dress of the collection. Details included a flounce bib, bishop sleeve and a cummerbund waist in a luxuriously sheer, iridescent fabric. Platform wooden mahogany wedges concluded the look.

Fashion mogul Frida Giannini of Gucci produced a victorious Spring 2015 collection. Stylish decadence teamed with poetic enchantment ruled the runway with seventies references prevalent throughout. Bourgeois tailored silhouettes reigned supreme on ladylike suiting whilst free spirited, bohemian references oozed of nonchalance. Think seventies musicians fused with iconic fashion muses.

The collection opened with a funnel neck, fitted, cropped jacket in the shade of eggshell with safari inspired breast pockets offset by gargantuan gold Medusa head buttons. A body skimming a-line skirt fell above the knee and featured a centre front split. Accessories included reptilian, multi ankle strap block heeled sandals in burnt caramel, silk printed neck tie and fudge suede shoulder bag complete with Gucci's famed forest green and red equestrian inspired striped strap.

Tanya Katysheva modelled a sumptuous suede trench dress in the delectable shade of toffee, an absolute wardrobe staple. Suede also starred on a hip hugging 7/8 pantaloons which featured gold hardware detail. A billowy printed silk blouse in vermilion, honey and ivory came complete with lace up detail. A languid arabesque for the deluxe gypsy.

Vanessa Moody modelled a nautical inspired, collarless denim dress, similar to the famed YSL Safari dress donned by Veruschka in the seventies. Overblown sleeves, side splits and statement making white ribbon plunged down the front placket and sides of the dress. A slimline tan plaited leather belt attenuated the waist. A sturdy, mid sized shoulder satchel in crocodile added a dose of ostentation to the mix.

A multi hued, Mongolian lamb fur vest in wine, paprika and dove grey packed some serious punch. This free spirited addition was paired to a crossover bust, elasticised waisted dress grazing knee caps which complemented the vest in autumnal shades. Delicate, ethereal whimsy prevailed on a sweet yet seductive scarlet, long sleeved silk dress complete with transparent floral, embroidered inserts which starred on the upper arm, shoulder and thigh. The lace up ribbon neckline continued to be a firm fixture. Terracotta, suede, midi ankle boots were sleek and toughened up the arabesque.

Nadja Bender modelled a silk chinoiserie dress which was contrasted by black elbow cuffs and neckline. Gold bullion embroidery featured across the chest area lending a modern edge to the garment.

A succession of indigo and chambray denim pieces weighed heavily throughout the collection and included a utilitarian key hole dress, a button down long sleeve dress, sailor inspired jeans, peasant shirt dress and a cutaway 3/4 jumpsuit finalised with large keyhole, multiple rows of yellow stitching and suede under the knee boots.

A Balmain-esque khaki, military jacket in cropped boxy proportions was married to a printed kaftan blouse, androgynous, cuffed boyfriend jeans, round tortoiseshell lunettes and natural snakeskin almond toe midi boots. A look Binx Walton sported with the perfect combination of panache and insouciance.

The finale consisted of exquisitely embellished cocktail dresses with demure hemlines. Whimsical chinoiserie florals graced a moss green/ apricot plunge dress, sherbet/ burgundy/ fire engine red tapered wrist spliced key hole dress, mandarin/ mushroom transparent dress and lastly a bottle green/ navy halter dress featuring beaded collar and waist sash.

US fashion label Free People offers free spirited, gypsy inspired garments perfect for the beach bohemian. The on trend designs are ideal coastal attire, think beach to bar ensembles at an attainable price point. To celebrate Australia being one of Free People's biggest markets outside North America an exclusive capsule collection was designed for Australians which included 88 boxes of stock flown in from the US for a pop up store on Oxford Street, Paddington. Covet worthy garments include silk camisoles, floral kimonos, patterned flares, distressed denim, embellished blouses teamed to cowboy boots in earthy, rustic shades. Be sure to accessorise your look with ethnic inspired jewellery, leather hobos and Panama hats. Just add tousled waves, surf, sun, sand and salt for an effortless look bursting with charm.

Look 1- A saturated lavender, floral 'Jasper' midi dress complete with cut out torso detail, cascading strips of material swathing the model's physique. The dress was married to stacked, molten metal fine bangles and chocolate, suede desert ankle boots with multi strap detail toughening up the silhouette.

Look 2- From left: Gathered off the shoulder midi dress with flounce in ebony complete with drawstring waist paired to beaded, shoulder bag in toffee and leather gladiatorial sandals. Right: A floor sweeping, heavenly white, diaphanous maxi dress featuring embellished flowers, broderie anglaise panelling with v-neck and spaghetti straps.

Look 3- The 'Matador' hat in grey marle felt features wide brim slung low over the forehead with black slimline hat band. A simplistic, monochromatic scarf is updated when paired to an exotic mocha and white feather collar. A peasant blouse, concho wrap leather bracelet and turquoise ring conclude the look.

Look 4- Essential for the effervescent night owl the 'Wild Desire Mini Dress' is a strapless black dress featuring a white tribal print. A body skimming arabesque which also works well as a day dress when paired with Roman sandals.

Look 5- I'm pictured at Maroubra Beach doing my best Free People impersonation in my khaki, jersey maxi dress. Specifics include cut out back design, twist knot torso detail and dare to bare thigh high split.

Look 6- Campaign star Erin Wasson models a poetic, free flowing  apricot brunch coat which is twinned to a unstructured straw hat. Emerald pinstripe skinny trousers add a bohemian aesthetic to this beatnik ensemble. 

Look 7- The epitome of effortless, chic, model off duty style this outfit comprises of oversized billowy tunic with sheer inserts and floral motif teamed with staple leather skinnies oozing with devil may care attitude. Round wayfarers make for quintessential face furniture.

Look 8- Peace, love, hippie connotations reign supreme on a peony pink, floral 'Noida Nights Maxi Dress'. Bell sleeves, crossover bust detail add innocence to this free spirited dress. Waxy leather ankle boots adorned with boot bracelets add a dose of gypsy luxe. The look is finalised with a wide brimmed, black fedora, very Saint Laurent.
