Tom Ford Winter 2012 Collection

Tom Ford's design philosophy is synonymous with high end glamour and overtly oozes sex appeal.

This season the designer did not disappoint his legion of dedicated followers.

Fur coats in eye popping shades of tangerine and canary yellow were paired against ebony pieces.Think black turtleneck, fine knit dresses teamed with knee high, slouch, leather, stiletto boot.

Leather played an essential role in the collection. Boatneck, leather, croc top complete with sleek leather pencil skirt had a Matrix, dominatrix feel to it. A leather shirt was unbuttoned coquettishly . A black moto jacket with fur collar cut a sleek silhouette.

A standout hounds tooth coat with statement upturned collar was paired with charcoal suiting and snow python, knee high boots, very exotic. A ruched satin pencil skirt was body hugging. A gold stretch sequin dress with torso pleating had a similar aesthetic to the house of Balmain.

Showstopping eveningwear included a raccoon like stole with white embellished evening dress complete with black, sheer, panels, a white asymmetrical neckline floorlength dress with dramatic, billowy split sleeves and structured shoulder and a crystallized insert, sleek black one shoulder number.

Clean, minimalistic wrist and neck cuffs featured in gold. Mod envelope clutches featured metal plate embellishment. Cat eye sunglasses were a chic offering and large oversized sunglasses were perfect for those wishing to go incognito.

Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2012 Collection

Dolce and Gabbana's latest Fall 2012 offering drew inspiration from the designers Italian heritage. There was a distinct religious feel to the collection.

Brightly coloured flowers and cherubs were printed onto fabric and teamed with black lace, full skirts and puff sleeve blouses. A black and gold colour palette dominated the runway and was seen in the form of velvet, lace, chiffon, tulle and gold brocade.

Rich, opulent, embroidery played an essential role in the collection.

Luxe, floral, tapestry suits complete with matching Doctor bag had D&G DNA written all over.

Caplets adorned shoulders and capes were a popular addition. Chiffon, high waisted skirts featured peplums teamed with lace tees, brassieres and brogues.

A gold and black, bustier tulip dress, complete with sheer panelling was a runway standout, modelled by Sigrid Agren.

Some D&G staples included white, lace bloomers, socks worn with pointy toed kitten heels, lace, sheer waist cinched dresses with peekaboo lingerie on display and corsetry. Detail included rich tapestry and peplums. Other details included Peter Pan collars, floral panelling, and scalloped lace hems. Voluminous 3/4 skirts, tulle frothy blouses, fur stoles and a leopard split sleeve coat complete with black fur trim collar were other garments on offer.

Bette Franke put a modern spin on bridal wear in a black flower applique, tulip minidress complete with black lace veil.

A vast array of accessories included lace gloves, ornamental oversized earrings, necklaces and chokers, jewel encrusted handbags, Victorianesque lace up booties, sheer knee lace stockings, lace booties, religious scenes printed on clutches, white and floral, gold chain handbag and silver velvet Mary Jaynes.

The collection still had that certain D&G va va voom yet this season it was in the form of a more refined and demure aesthetic.

Michael Kors Fall 2012

Michael Kors continued his usual design philosophy this season.
Luxurious, timeless pieces were on display. The Michael Kors woman appears to have journeyed off into the rustic wilderness and found sanctuary in a decadent cabin lodge.
Tartans and plaid were key elements in the collection. The fabric featured on ponchos, capes and coats.
Fur was statement making, seen on collars of lace blouses, leather gloves, stoles and gilets.
There is no excuse this winter for not looking warm and chic this season. Mongolian fur coats were absolutely stunning in soft silver,grey, vermilion, ivory and fawn.
Tweed and leather shifts with scalloped hemlines offered sharp and sleek tailoring. This look was complete with wayfarers.
Cable knit turtlenecks were paired with champagne , lace skirts. Gold sequin, drop waist, flapper dress, worn by Karmen Pedaru added plenty of glitz and glamour. Hounds tooth, cigarette style pants offered an alternative to plaid.
Accessories included oversized fur totes, fox fur tails attached to clutches, black ankle boots with chrome chunky heel, T bar Mary Jayne's and fur boots which had a Yeti like quality to them.
Charcoal, chunky, ribbed socks were prevalent on the runway, these complimented charcoal, wool, arm warmers.
Looks were frequently brought together with belts. Think either super skinny or wide waist cinchers.
No doubt this collection will delight Kors's avid American clientele.
Although I might not be able to afford anything in this highly covetable collection, I recently purchased Kors by Michael Kors, Jada, suede, lace up, wedge bootie for $240. I LOVE that I have a little piece of Michael Kors in my wardrobe!

Gucci Fall 2012

Dark romance is the best way to describe Frida Giannini's latest offering this fall season.
Dramatic tailoring with a sexy edge was a reoccurring aesthetic.
Velvet in jewelled tone hues such as emerald, chartreuse, turquoise, sapphire, amethyst, and onyx featured heavily on maxis, blazers, plunge neck, drop waist evening wear as well as languid trousers which appeared almost skirt like in volume.
Slouch leather pants tucked into crocodile flat under the knee boots lent an androgynous tone to the collection.

Jacquard fabric featured on jodhpurs, coats, Edwardian goth dresses, soft olive ruffle blouses.

Sheer, sexy blouses with sunray pleating, applique and embellishment dominated the runway, often tucked into high waited, fluid knee length skirt with flounce.

An oversized fur coat in chocolate and desert sand was a real standout on the runway. It wreaked of opulence, modelled by Yulia Kharlapanova. Shearling and shag coats also made an appearance.

Other ensembles resembled silk pajamas but far more decadent, with prints that could have drawn inspiration fron the artist Van Gogh.

Chunky knits, tassel trim cardis and cheongsam style blouses completed the collection. As usual the collection finished with show stopping evening gowns. Layers of tulle enveloped models physiques, with plenty of flesh on display.

Statement handbags were big and boxy in patent crocodile. Peep toe suede bootie with ankle cut out was a chic addition.

D & G Spring / Summer 2012
This was the final collection for dynamic duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's D & G label. D & G is merging with its grown up sister, partner in crime, Dolce & Gabbana. The designers continued to do what they do best...sexy, young, glamazon garments. This collection definitely won't disappoint their legion of fans.
Key pieces included body con, strapless mini, silk scarf dress in a kaleidoscope of colour worn by Karmen Pedaru.
Floral kaftans and hankerchief skirts had a distinct Hermes, Versace and Pucci feel to them.
Patchwork silk cuffed shirts featured denim plackets and pockets. There were prints aplenty often mismatched polka dots and florals. Though haphazardous they still managed to work well on the runway. Oversized raffia sun hats complemented high waisted knicker bockers and hipster, tie side bikinis. Silhouettes emphasised the waist. Halter maxis, peasant blouses, caplets and jumpsuits, all great wardrobe staples for an Italian seaside getaway.
Accessory wise, gold coin earrings and necklaces were teamed with garments. Floral, platform, peep toe booties swathed models ankles and came in an array of colours including; watermelon, cobalt, tangerine, fuschia and gold. Minaudieres and envelope clutches completed the look.

Oyster Magazine

As I was searching through my modelling portfolios I stumbled across my first ever photoshoot. I'm 15 years old in this shot.

It was for edgy, fashion publication, Oyster magazine. The shoot took place on a rooftop on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. It was shot by the immensely talented, photographer, Eddy Ming. Australian designer Nicola Finetti, who is a creative visionary, styled the shoot, with designs from his latest winter collection. The wonderful Angela Davis did my hair and make up. Angela is now based in London.

Looking back I had no idea how privileged I was to be working with three, Australian, fashion heavyweights on my first ever photoshoot!
